Neptune had been watching the kids run through the obstacle course. He watched intently, watching them working hard. He didn't know what cohort was working right now, or if it was just friendly training. If there was anything of the sort in the Roman Empire. It was never much in the way of being a lax camp. He wasn't exactly a lax person. He was someone who tended to look stern, looked as if he was itching for a fight at times. Sometimes they were right. But he was a man who had two sides just like anyone else. He was a god, Neptune had seen so many things, experienced much in his life. He wasn't someone like his brother Jupiter who just sweapt all of the experiences under the rug like it didn't matter.
Neptune wasn't exactly hiding. But he wasn't exactly out in the open either. He had been doing some incognito checking up on his kids. Mostly trying to make sure that Clare had everything that she needed for Christy. Mikayla was alright, she was able to do much for herself and had no attachments. Clare needed more of his time right now. Ronan was doing well for himself, becoming praetor. Though he was Vulcan's son, he was still his grandson. It made his heart soar to know that he was doing good for himself. And later, probably tomorrow, he'd probably try to sneak some time with Julia. He was doing his best to keep up with his kids. He wasn't as good as Mercury was at keeping tabs on his children, but he was doing his best to do better. Anything that could prove that he was doing better than Jupiter was, well that was damn good in his book.
He stood there, watching the kids for hours doing things. Some of it was as simple as running the course over and over again till they nearly passed out. Others were doing more stupid things, mostly the boys, trying to impress girls or each other. Boys could be so stupid, Neptune thought as he couldn't help but smirk. He wasn't exactly King Perfect either. He had done plenty of stupid things in his long and immortal life. So climbing up to the top of the monkey bars and sitting on the side, balancing and swinging his legs like a kid who's feet couldn't touch the ground, that wasn't by far the dumbest thing he had ever done. This was actually one of the safest things that he could have done. Actually being here, sitting here was not stupid. His sea green eyes intently watched the ground as he kicked his feet. It had been a while since he had actually picked up a weapon and tried to work out with it. He felt as if he was getting sluggish, so he'd have to do something to fix that. He wasn't about to listen to Mars go on and on about how his uncle was horrible in a fight.
