Okay, she had to do something. While Felicity had been her friend at one point, she felt bad that the daughter of Pluto was gone. What made it worse was the fact that Remus was in such a funk. She was going to get it out of him with the usual friendly Mars children competition. Though it wouldn't be the sort that ended up in bloodshed or in the infirmary minus a limb. It had been a while since they had gotten a chance to hang out and spar. Maybe that would take his mind off of what was going on. She wasn't exactly someone who did that whole 'there there it will all be better' sort of thing. Then to top it off, or maybe it was the first straw that broke the camels back, Jason had been gone too. She had been fond of Jason at one point. Their mutual disdain of Edmund was something they had bonded over. It didn't help that Edmund had dumped a bucket of water over the two of them at one point. He was a disrespectful little snot, and Charlie thought that Ed had gotten off what he had done way too easy.
She had sent a message to Remus for him to meet her at the obstacle course. It was duct taped to his door where he would see it, and probably have a hard time of getting it off said door. She wanted to tack it to his door with a knife but that would probably be a bit mean. And that door looked like it was mahogany. She didn't want to blemish something like that at all, it would be an affront to doors all around the world. And his was pretty to boot. So here she stood, at the time and place where she told him to meet. Sitting against a tree was her gladius and set of armor in case they wanted to spar. She started to stretch out. First a race through the obstacle course. The whole thing. Not half, not a quarter, the whole thing. A good race was something that always got the blood running. So stretching out, she didn't want to catch a cramp. Charlie had done that before and to be honest it was the singular worst thing ever. Enough pain to make you stop, but not enough to stop the first cohort centurion.
As she stretched, she went through the motions that her martial arts instructor had taught her. The careful stretching of each muscles was important. Charlie made sure that the cohort did it as well. The last thing she needed was some idiot child running off with a cramp or a twisted ankle. Which was bound to happen but it wasn't about to be because they didn't stretch. IT would be because they missed a step in a technique. Drill it till they couldn't get it wrong. That was what she did. Every bit of training brought her to the wars. She wasn't about to prove to not be worthy of her position and cohort. Not to mention she had something to prove with her dad.
