It was nice out, slightly cloudy, there was a cool front coming in the air and Mercury could feel it. He could feel that slight onslaught of the coolness that came along with it being fall. Of course it wasn't the first official day of fall yet, but that was still beside the point. Being that it was September and getting close to October meant that his one singular most important financial decision ever made was coming up on an anniversary celebration. It was the day he had given someone the idea to put the so called "pumpkin spice" into things like coffee. He really had no idea how fast the craze would catch on. It was as if every woman in the world went crazy over this pumpkin spice stuff. Especially when they put it in the coffee. He didn't like pumpkin flavoring at all unless it was attached to pie. Then again Mercury had never met a food he didn't like. He didn't like food, he loved it. And Fall was the time of the year that all the best stuff came out. The harvest was always amazing, provided that Ceres wasn't a total witch the past year or you didn't make her mad.
But here he sat at an outdoor patio of a restaurant. His chair was tipped back on two legs where he balanced perfectly and with ease. Some passersby thought he would easily take a spill. No, that was never going to be the case. And besides today was not a day for childish pranks or foolish behavior. This was a day to sit and appreciate the weather. He'd have to make note to go talk to windbag number four, which ever one was in charge of the autumn air. Maybe he'd hop over to Germany to see the Octoberfest. Winter brought the snow and that meant Christmas markets. He wasn't a fan of "saturnalia" so to speak. He liked the idea of Christmas. Mercury did everything he possibly could in the past to sneak a present to his children and grandchildren, trinkets and baubles mostly. But now that the war had passed and was seemingly lulled for the time being, Mercury would be able to make more of an effort so long as Jupiter didn't do anything too crazy or off the wall. With his dad, there really was no telling or knowing what the crazy eight ball was going to do next. Not that he was the world's biggest fan of Juno either, but she had to put up with ALOT of crap from Jupiter. He made a note to get her an extra nice present this year.
Mercury took a sip of his coffee. He didn't get the pumpkin spiced everything, no this was a simple coffee, with ten sugars in the largest container he could possibly get. Not decaf either. No one liked that watered down poor excuse for a coffee. Or at least that was his opinion and it was his correct opinion.
