Charlie didn't know what she was doing on temple hill. Well she knew very well what she was doing. She had hoped to get a glimpse of that handsome yet ever busy Augur. Charlie shook her head, who was she kidding? That would never happen. The thought made her a bit depressed and forlorn. At least Remus had promised to not let her become the crazy hell hound lady of New Rome. She wanted to check in on her brother in a little bit. But as since she decided she was going to lurk around Temple Hill like some kind of crazy stalker, she had brought something special for her dad. Also something for Discordia. But after putting some bit of books on the alter in the shrine of Discordia, thanking her for helping her with her dad earlier, Charlie trudged her way up the hill to the temple of Mars Ultor. The thought of her dad terrified her and she hadn't been more scared of him then the other day when Venus had egged him on to hug her. The only thought that rand through her mind was something along the lines of, please dad don't eat me. Charlie bit her lip as she walked into the temple of her father. It was a temple of war, that much was for sure. Just setting foot in here was something that made her want to pull her sword and stab the nearest person. Luckily there was no one else here for it being early in the morning. The breakfast bell hadn't even sounded to show the mess hall was open for food.
Charlie took a deep breath before approaching the statue of her father. She looked at it hard. It really didn't look like her dad, not really. Maybe he looked like that back in the day, but now he looked much...more. The alter was well kept and very well taken care of. The stone was polished and even the offerings were on the table rather nice and orderly. Charlie knelt down and looked up at her dad before saluting. She produced a sword from her bag before gently placing it on the alter. The gleaming metal shown and the point glinted viciously. It was the only offering that she could think of. She hoped that it was something that he would appreciate. Then she pulled out a few books, they were old and leather bound, mostly journals on war time strategies. Charlie placed them upon the Alter in a neat pile and then placed the sword on top of it. Charlie looked around and tried to make sure that no one else was around. Charlie thought that she saw someone lurking in the shadows or in the corners, but it must have been the early morning light that was peering in through the door and the flames in the braziers.
She took a deep breath, looking up in the stone eyes of her father's statue she knelt back down on her knees and started to pray. At first it started out in her mind, but then it just started to pour out of her mouth. This was the only way that she felt close to her dad, the only way she could really get things out in the open other then talking to Felicity or Remus. Or even Edmund when he was in animal form, but she would never admit to it. "Hey dad, I just wanted to say thank you for the hug. It really made my day. I know you're busy and that you're not much for the whole Lovey dovey thing, but I wish I could see you more. Just to know you're there." Charlie looked up again to the statue and then bowed her head once more. "I'm trying dad, trying hard to bring you honor, to be the best fighter that New Rome has ever seen. I want to be better then everyone else. Please father, show me what I can do to become the best person you know. Show me how to fight properly, show me what it means to be a true daughter of Mars." Charlie asked.
