Tessa segmented her days, and in fact her weeks, to be as perfectly balanced as possible. She created formulas that included number of hours in the day, the amount of sleep she absolutely needed, how much time it normally took her to eat food, and even scheduled time to leave room for interacting with people. Every minute of everyday was properly accounted for and utilized to it's fullest. Resting periods were even fit into her schedule so she would not pass out, as she does when she tries to change her schedule. It takes a lot of her time to plan it out perfectly, but without it she would never get the amount of sleep and rest needed. She found that out the hard way several times. She could never accept anything less than perfect from herself, she was never sure why but if she wasn't working hard her heart would clench and she wouldn't be able to sleep. It was better to get up, and do something, than to lay in bed staring at the ceiling thinking about all the things she should be doing. She was not good at fighting with swords, so she always devoted more time to that than anything else, archery and first aid came a bit more naturally. Still when she first started trying to be a nurse at the infirmary she studied anything and everything she could get her hands on, and preformed tasks repetitively on herself to gain the muscle memory. Stitching was about the only thing she did not do to herself, however she did take up sewing cloth and leather for the practice. It was never the same, however it was better than nothing.
Often Tessa set aside her hours for the infirmary, and made sure to keep an ear out for when they needed more people. She had no problem rearranging her schedule a little to help out, especially now that Kyoto was in charge of the infirmary. That man seemed better suited to being a doctor, because he seemed to care greatly for the health of other people whether he personally liked them or not. Tessa could respect that, she could greatly respect that despite what she heard about his flirtatious ways. The stories seemed to turn to the recent relationships people have gained, and it seemed like there had been quite a few that came up over the past month or two. She wondered if they should have an abstinence class, perhaps have a few rings as promises. It was something she had seen long ago, and it seemed very sweet. She wondered how many would be needed, and if she should make them since it was her idea. Though it might be better to have one of the people who actually work in the forge do it. No, it would not be good to push more work on them, after all it was already the go to place for broken weapons. Tessa sighed at the thought of her own weapon. It had been only a day, and she already itched with wanting to practice with it. She had spent so much time with her weapon, and even named it. Practicing with the other sword felt like she was cheating on hers.
After changing into her plain uniform for working in the infirmary, Tessa tied up her hair and got to work. She grabbed a notebook left specifically in her locker at the infirmary so no one would get patient information. She normally shredded and burned it when she was done noting it in their file, but she preferred to leave it there. One could never tell what methods a demi-god could use to find information on people. She preferred to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Since Tessa got the hang of inventory flow, and someone actually listened to her, the infirmary has not been empty on anything. The time of year was about right to start ordering more items for heat related illnesses. It was amazing how often people came in from them. Perhaps a seminar about heat illnesses, at least with the centurions, it would be best if they could recognize the symptoms early on. Tessa made a note to the side of her paper to leave something to Kyoto about it.
