It was a good time to get away from things for a little while. And what better place to do so than New Zealand? The gods in general never seemed to pay this place much mind since it was never much of a hub of Western Civilization. And it was warm, and quite pleasant this time of year. Even though San Francisco was decent, or at least warmer and more out of the limelight than Long Island, New York, it wasn’t quite up to his favorites list. This place, though. This was what it was all about.
For once, Prometheus had ditched his usual suit and gone instead for jeans and a button-up white top. The sun made sunglasses a handy accessory as well. And nothing felt better than bare feet on the beach. Which was, presently, where he was. The beaches here in New Zealand were, without a doubt, exquisite. Especially the one he was currently on, which was only reachable by boat or helicopter, so there wasn’t a lot of mortal traffic. Actually, there was none at all. Which was just fine by him. He did enjoy watching people, yes, as mortals were so delicate and curious creatures, but even Prometheus needed some time away from the bustling mortal world and especially the trigger-happy Romans. There were a few there that he got on fine with. Miss Felicity was an interesting person whom he was fairly certain he could relate to on the matter of being singled out for no reason of your own.
Prometheus sighed and dig his feet deeper into the sand he was seated on, looking out over the crystalline water. This place was so serine. Such a far cry from New Rome or Camp Jupiter. They always seemed to be uptight, which he couldn’t fully blame them for. He had rather dropped a decent sized bag of questions on them. The worst of it was, he wasn’t entirely sure of the nature of this beast himself. And that was enough to give him pause. But apparently not the Romans, as they were charging into the challenge with guns blazing. How typical. That was why he had rather preferred the Greeks, with their more philosophical look on things. Then again, spending time with the Greeks was out of the question right now. Far too close to Manhattan and the comfy seat of the Olympians. And what with his most recent mishap regarding Kronos, it was best to fly under the radar, as they said.
Which so far, was working well enough. Until recently. Some of the younger gods, take Miss Diana for instance, were coming onto the scene in New Rome. Perhaps his ability to keep out of range was failing him. Albeit, he was stirring up things with their kids – well, not Diana’s but all the same. He narrowed his eyes, looking out over the water. Yes, there was something big coming in the near future. He just wished he knew what it was.
