Appearance ;; How does one begin to describe the epitome of beauty? Venus is known to be able to appear in the most pleasing form to any living creature and has something of an unplaceable quality when it comes to trying to describe her. However, her favorite form seems to be that of a voluptuous and well-endowed creature, the two most enticing qualities to a member of the male species. She is about 5’8” in stature, though she often looks a little taller because she enjoys the novelty of a nice high-heeled shoe.
Her hair is a long, silken milk-chocolate and flows down to her mid back. Depending on the day, it is either attractively wavy or straightened to perfection. If any of the campers thought her children were bad, the amount of perfection concentrated on her appearance probably outranks them tenfold. She has aristocratic features with high cheekbones and full, pouty lips that are the color of a ripe strawberry. Her skin is always flawless and touched with just the right amount of blush that she doesn’t ever require makeup, of course.
Depending on which color she thinks is prettier on any given day, her eyes are usually a warm whiskey brown or a brilliant blue and lined with long lashes. If anything, her appearance is complimented by her overwhelming presence in a room, whether it simply be her divinity or her feminine wiles.
Her clothing style often changes with her mood as much of her appearance tends to do, but it will always be something at the height of fashion and look refined, expensive, and at least a little bit form-fitting.
Personality ;; If anything, Venus can come off as a bit of an elitist when it comes to her personality. If one was to demean or attempt to degrade what she stands for (Love and beauty being principally the two she worries the most about), she will likely either ignore you or show off a bit of an abrasive side to her. She sometimes gives off the air of judging those around her which some may find off-putting. She is incredibly proud and will not tolerate being put down by anyone, least of all those who do not meet or exceed her in rank, and is often described as being vain, which would be accurate.
However, she is not just a one-dimensional beauty queen. Being the embodiment of love contributes other interesting dimensions to her personality, such as having an interest in art and aesthetic pleasure of all kinds, including things people might find abstract. She appreciates subtle beauty as much as overt displays of it. She is often interested or meddling in love affairs of most beings, both divine and mortal and will help anyone find it, especially those who doubt her. If crossed, this can become something terrible very quickly. She also embodies motherly love, which means she is surprisingly doting and affectionate towards her descendants and anyone else who gains her favor. She will go to great lengths in these situations to ensure their happiness and protect them.
Being who she is, Venus is also often described as flirtatious, which is also well deserved. Although she tries to be appropriate around campers and will treat them as the children that they are, she may come off as suggestive towards anyone who is of legal age, only because it’s naturally the way she behaves (whether she means anything by it or not). Naturally, she is also a charmspeaker, meaning she can pretty much seduce anyone into doing what she wants if she really chooses to.

History ;; Once upon a time, Uranus, the sky, was dismembered by his son Saturn and the remains thrown into the sea. From the remains and the sea together arose Venus, or Aphrodite as she’d also been known. She was the most beautiful form to grace the cosmos and came to be known as the embodiment of love, beauty, pleasure, and joy. After her rise from the ocean and the overthrow of the titans, Venus joined the other Olympian gods and began to rule the world with them as one of the Dii Consentus.
During the earlier part of her time, Venus was often the source of conflict on Mt. Olympus. Jupiter thought she was beautiful and wanted her for himself, but instead he married her to Vulcan, the ugliest of the gods. Unhappy with the marriage, Venus began an enduring love affair with Mars and had continued it, even after being discovered by her husband. She has courted many of the gods at some point or another and had a lot of children by them. But hey, what else is a goddess of beauty and love supposed to do with her charms?
Perhaps her favorite child (don’t tell any of the others) is Cupid. Of course his father and her usual consort Mars had hoped that Cupid would be as violent a god as himself, but Venus was delighted to discover that he had inherited her voracity for all things love, especially becoming her little matchmaker. Ah, here was a child who had truly come after her own heart. Her caring for Cupid was as much an attestation to her motherly nature as it was to her desire to have one that at least resembled her in more than just looks and vanity. Although she sincerely cares for each of her many children, Cupid has a special place in her heart. Even when he did make the mistake of making himself fall in love with that human named Psyche who was far too pretty for her own good. Ah, well. Green-eyed jealousy looked as good on her as any other color, although in retrospect, perhaps she could have toned it down a little.
Time went by and in her greek guise as Aphrodite (Although there is no difference between the two because of love's universal nature), Venus caused the Trojan war because of her beauty and Juno’s jealousy. Someone had thrown one of the golden apples into a room where Venus, Juno, and Minerva had been. The three noticed that the apple said “for the fairest” on it, and the three fought about it for a long time. Of course Venus won the contest (if it could be called that) because the prince of Troy was the judge and as a reward for chosing her, Venus gave him the most beautiful woman in the world, who happened to be Helen. She asked Cupid to help that little situation along because of his wonderful skills. However, because Helen had already been married, it caused a major scene and led to the battle of Troy. Venus had been in full support of the Trojans, mainly because of her role in it and because some of her favorite children were among the ranks there. Was it one of her crowning moments? Maybe not. But could she help it if she was the prettiest? Seriously now.
If Venus ever had a part in the demigod wars, it was probably to protect her children and also possibly to meddle in the love lives of others where she probably shouldn’t. But still, could she deny all of those kids the chance to find out about the passion and pain that came with love? Not in good conscience! She tried to use her charms for good during the crisis of the battle with the Titans and not only made provisions to protect her kids from harm, but also pulled strings that would strengthen the moral of the young fighters and get them to be more cohesive as a group.
Since the end of it, however, Venus has mostly been keeping to her own choice of activities (mainly roaming the globe and witnessing or tweaking the greatest love stories she can find) and does what she does best. However, the fact that many of the gods she prefers to fraternize with have been appearing at the Roman demi-god camp has drawn her attention. With plenty of matches to be made and love stories to be told, not to mention the presence of her favorite son AND her favorite male companion, what better place to spend her idle time?[/blockquote]
