The gates were always the same, campers watching at them, always checking if everyone was doing what it was supossed they should be doing. For someone that was as free as the wind, it was a nightmare to have to be so ordenate and so attached to a schedule! he hated that... well maybe only because it wasn't his schedule. He got a lot from his father, so a good self schedule was always necessary in life, but self one not the one impossed by others!
With that in mind, Joshua Rogers always tended to skip classes and train in his own way. So when he was younger he started going out to the mortal world, then he started to 'borrow' stuff from the mortal world and sometimes from the camp and New Rome. Now that he was a bit older, 18 years old, he was getting an expert on blending and getting out from Camp like that, it was fun and almost no one could track him in Camp.
He also considerated himself something like a modern Robin hood, he took from the rich and gave a part to the poor, the other part he kept it. So if he took a bag with 10 pink diamonds, he changed them for a very good price and then he keeps the equivalent of three diamons and give away the rest, it was something fair! At least in his mind.
But that day... he hadn't gone out to have fun like always, it was his mother's death aniversary. He had taken Rick to her grave, and then came back with him safe and sound. As soon as they got to the camp, Josh sent Rick to his cohort and told him to act as if nothing had happened. rick did as he asked and left him by the gates. Josh smiled at him and then breathed deeply. "well... I guess this is when Dad would tell me... 'I told you so'..." he muttered and breathed deeply again.
A pair of scorpions had attacked them. He protected his little brother as always, so nothing happened to the 13 year old boy. But in his case... he killed one of the beasts but the other one... well it got him with the sting and ripped some flesh from his left ribs. he covered the most part from Rick but Josh knew he wasn't in the best conditions possible. Infirmary was kind of far and he didn't know if he was going to have enough energy to blend once more to get into the infirmary. "great... just great Josh..." he frowned and leaned back on the wall near the gates, feeling the poison getting to all of his body.
