Appearance ;;
Gabriel has medium length, dark brown, curly hair. It seems unruly, but there is little that he can do to tame it. He stands at 5'8” and weighs about 170 lbs. His build is medium but athletic. He doesn't have much in the way of fat on him, but his muscles are stringy and well defined. His skin is fair, but rather tanned at times and his eyes are dark brown. His chin is mostly clean shaven, though there are days that you can find it with a bit of stubble. His hair at times looks black, but if you look up close, it has a tint of brown in it. He has a couple of scars on his body, a long and jagged scar runs from below his knee all the way to his hip on his right side. It's why he tends to favor his left side over his right in a fight. The inside of his arm is covered in callous from where his bow string grazes against it. His eyes always hold a look of distance in them, most of the time they could be considered cold and calculating.
Gabriel mostly has clothes that are well worn in. Outside of legion attire, he can be seen in a leather vest with either a short sleeved or long sleeved white shirt. He also favors wearing jeans and boots. No matter the weather, he can be seen wearing a leather arm guard on the inside of his arm from where he's practiced Archery for so many years. Most of his jeans are frayed around the tops and the bottoms from where he's pulled at them. He's also got a few pairs of jeans with missing belt loops from where he's attached things to them and his pants have caught. Gabriel is abusive to his clothes and will literally wear them till they fall apart.
Personality ;;
Gabriel is a well read, intelligent and polite young man. His mother made sure that her son would not be considered a hooligan and made sure that she pushed him to treat everyone no matter their background with respect and consideration. He is well spoken and polite, even though someone may be younger than him, he always refers to people as miss or sir. Sometimes this can get on peoples nerves. He has a disciplined mind and loves to have a personal challenge to make himself better at something he isn't particularly good at. He is kind hearted to a fault. He takes things that go wrong to the people he knows as personal, that there was something he could have done different to prevent the wrongs that have happened to people. Gabriel is dyslexic and it took him a lot of work to overcome his verbal and written dyslexia, mostly because of his mother pushing him hard and driving him to do the best he could. His dyslexia didn't extend to just words and letters, but also numbers as well. To this day he has a hard time with numbers.
Gabriel loves to read, his mother brought him up on tales of knights and heroes. He loves the thought of adventure and wants nothing more then to go out on a quest to become a legendary hero. His favorite hero is Robin Hood and he loves to read and re-read the tales in his precious books. He deeply cares about his father and tries to not disappoint him, but there's just a good bit of things that Gabriel knows that he's lacking. He's always wanted to be like his biggest hero, so he took up Archery as a means of defense. While he prefers to move stealthily, shooting and picking off someone, but there is the off chance that he has to get into melee combat. He has a pair of knives that are mirrored to the same elven fighting knives as another hero of his from a book. They are long and thinly bladed, but there's nothing special about them. Gabriel is disciplined and hard working, though he isn't perfect at everything he attempts.
Despite the fact that Gabriel is rather slow to anger, he can carry a grudge. When pushed past his breaking point, his anger and rage are close to what people call blood thirsty. His disciplined mind and passion make him a horrid enemy to have. He is ruthless and relentless when trying to exact his revenge on someone. Most of the time he can keep his anger and passion separate, but there's been once or twice when the passion and anger combined making for a volatile combination.
Powers ;;
Umbrakenesis: Gabriel has the ability to control darkness and shadows. He can use it to travel or to even become invisible for a brief time. Becoming invisible takes a lot out of him and he can only do this once per day. He can solidify shadows into shields and can erupt a point of pitch black darkness around him in a ten yard radius. Umbrakenesis is his specialty and he can use it much more proficiently than any other of his abilities.
Hellfire: Gabriel can summon a fissure of hellfire, but unlike most of the other members in his divine family, while their hellfire is green, his is black. He doesn't know why it's different just that it is.
Necromancy: Gabriel can command Lares that's just about it. Other then sensing when someone he knows has died, his abilities in this particular area are... lacking. Talk to the dead? Not a problem. Asking a favor? Again, not a problem. Dragging them up from the underworld? Yeah, that's a no go. Necromany is an ability that has just fallen to the wayside from not being used.
Geokenesis: Gabriel has minor abilities in geokenesis. Mostly they consist of causing fissures or small outcropings of rocks. Manipulating the earth is a great strain on his energy, so this is a last resort ability.

History ;;
Clara met Pluto at a seminar in Berlin. She was teaching on the symbolisim of Tolkien's books of The Lord of the Ring and the correlation it had in world war II. Clara was rather smitten with the man, and she was rather impressed by his intelligence and his care. It was in late April that Clara found out that she was with child and the couple couldn't be happier. She knew that the man she was with was a god, and understood that there would be times when he couldn't be around. He promised that he would make sure that she was well provided for and that their child would want for nothing. Pluto had to abide by Jupiter's words of not interfering with mortal lives. Though since it was during the spring and the summer, Pluto was able to visit her at least a few times before having to retreat to the underworld in time for his wife to arrive back from the mortal world.
Gabriel was born on January 30th, during the winter. He had dark hair and gray eyes, but soon they faded to dark brown in color. His temperment as a small child was relaxed and easy to get along with. His mother had no trouble with bringing him to her office to stay while she taught. In between classes she would read him fantasy stories and facinate him with tales of heroes. During the spring, he would be visited by his father. His mother doted on him and gave him everything he needed. Because of his mother reading to him, he was early to read and write. But his dyslexia proved to be a bit of an issue. His mother took it upon herself to work with her son as a teacher to prove that Dyslexia can be mastered. She wasn't about to have a son with such a disorder.
In primary school, Gabriel had been tested and found to have ADHD. His mother would not medicate him despite the pleas from the doctors. While he was mastering reading at much higher than his grade level, his skills in math suffered. When it came to numbers, they floated around and rearranged themselves. If it wasn't for the tutors that his mother had hired, he wouldn't have passed each grade level. Only one or twice had he gotten sent to the headmasters for fighting. There was in particular one boy who had tormented him. Gabriel hated him from the start and still to this day will hate him. He can't seem to let go of his anger towards the boy. His teachers always found him to be polite and respectable, only ever having to call a conference once with his mother because someone had though he had lit a fire in the boys lavatory though there was no physical evidence.
Shortly after his ninth birthday, Pluto decided that it was time to visit his son. Jupiter caught him in the act and threatened to dispose of his son if he wasn't sent to camp instead of being kept away in England. Since he wouldn't interfere directly, Pluto sent a hellhound to help guide his son to camp. Gabriel chased after the big fluffy puppy and disappeared into a shadow. A note was left to his mother explaining Gabriels predicament. He arrived near the wolf house shortly there after and was tested by Lupa. One of the first lessons he learned and one of the most valuable, was that it was generally a bad idea to chase unknown creatures into shadows. Lupa saw the strength in him and he was quick to learn the ways of the wolf. He was sent on his way west to Camp Jupiter. It was, for the most part, uneventful. He was chased the last bit of the way by a basilisk. He narrowly made it into camp with his life, though his wounds were harsh. It took him nearly two weeks to recover.
He managed to make it two weeks in the legion before he was claimed by his father. Legion life was fun, enjoyable even. HE worked hard and diligently to try to master the sword and shield in the traditional roman way, but it was just not his strength. HE was better with a bow than he was with the sword. It was a bit of disgrace but he did all that he could to better himself. He slowly began to master his powers of shadow. But it was during the war that he found he was having a hard time dealing with the dead. It was clear that his strengths lay in shadow manipulation. HE fought with the legion against the titans, knowing full and well the consequences of what would happen should they take over.
Gabriel worked hard to make a better name for the children of Pluto. He was tired of being called bad luck and a curse just because of his father. He became much better with a bow, though he is never as good as a child of Apollo or a Hunter. Shortly after the war, he was in an unfortunate accident in the Coliseum. He had been doing some training when a spear pierced his knee and ripped through muscle and skin up to his hip. Since then, he's been favoring his left side over his right side. It took nearly a month to recover from the wound, but he learned from it.
