You don't even understand. He took a bullet, okay, he left camp went to a war zone and took a bullet for a kid he didn't know. Stupid, stupid idiot, Josh. He breaks an oath on the river Styx, like an idiot, to save me, why? Because he's too stupid to realize I'm not worth anything. Certainly not the ever damnation of his soul. Fool. Totally and absolute idiot of a man. At least he's mine. My idiot.
Rhia and Josh have been best friends since they entered the legion, at least Josh has been bothering her and calling her a little witch since that time. Rhia was 8 years old, and Josh was 10. They both have abusive backgrounds. Josh found her abrasive behavior entertaining, and she was never one to throw the first punch. She allowed him to bother her, insulting him, cursing him, but never being physical. From that trust developed, and friendship.
Being someone who will put himself in danger for other people earned Rhia's care, and worry. When he was put in the infirmary for sever injuries she bothered his doctor, Jason Kyoto. In her worry, and questioning ways, he brought up an idea she couldn't stop thinking about. That she cared for Josh as more than a friend. That she might love him.
It took her a month, but she decided to confess to him. She'd never done so before, and was certain he didn't care the same way. For the first time she wore a dress, took a brush to her unkept hair, and put on a small amount of make up, though not by choice. Like that the confessed, and Josh was taken aback. He'd loved her, but never expected her to like him. Both certain they were not the best for the other, but more than happy to stay forever.
Dating happily for a while, Saturn came to Rhiannon in her dreams. Befriending her, and believing in him and his ideals. She told the only person she trusted, Josh, about the Titan. He promised not to share her information, swore on the Rive Styx. With thoughts only of her safety, secondary was that of Camp and New Rome, he broke his oath.
To save her, he sold his soul. To protect her he worked as a double agent for the Camp. That Camp sent him on a quest, whose members where picked by the gods. Gone for 6 months he worked every day, fighting. Home Rhia learned what it meant to be alone again. What it was like to have the only friend who stayed with her gone. Out of reach. Inek stayed with her, the small fox she loved. It wasn't the same though.
When he came back Rhia was over joyed, entering the infirmary with or without the permission of the head medic. Staying all day everyday with or without her permission, except perhaps the times she got food. They promised each other that Friday they would leave.
The final night Rhia would be in camp she broke into the Principal. To steal the relic, closing up all loose ends she had. However she was captured. She could go back to Josh. She couldn't leave with him. In his distress Josh escaped the infirmary, wounds not completely healed at all. He went to find out about her, and then broke in to try and save her.
In an attempt to get him to leave, for him to not be hurt more, Rhia told him she didn't need him. It broke his heart. Hers had already been broken while he was gone. She had shattered her heart over those six months, and gone a bit crazy. For a while she would have done anything, absolutely anything, to keep Josh from dying and going to Tartarus.
Then she found Josh would not be going to Tartarus. Mercury snuck in and told her. Then she cared not for anything. Her mind still a bit unscrewed, she continued to try and appear her normal self.
