Appearance ;;
Soleil, by all appearance, is what most people consider to be the picturesque child. Her skin is slightly tanned, mostly from being outside and training now that she is here in Camp Jupiter. Her eyes are hazel, mimicking the brown flecked with green of the woods and her hair is tight curled dirty blond. She is a petite girl, barely reaching four foot and eight inches tall, and weighing in at about 85 lbs. She has a wide and toothy grin and is quick to flash it at people. She hasn’t quite reached puberty yet, so she’s still small and rather scrawny compared to most of the other girls at camp. While her hair is always in spiraled curls, it is rather frizzy and heaven forbid you see her outside after its rained, you’ll have your own personal shade tree. Her clothing is rather childish still, not at all flattering her form. She wears baggy jeans with sneakers and over sized camp shirts, just because a small isn’t small enough.
Personality ;;
To people, Soleil seems to be the perfect child. She is well mannered, polite, and never speaks unless spoken to. She has a seemingly boundless supply of energy. Though she’s not very talented in fighting, Soleil tries really hard and works herself to the bone to find what sort of weapon that best suits her. She always likes to be active by running around and despite all of the Roman training, she still finds time to play pretend and when she grows up she wants to be a pirate. She loves to play and she trusts a few people from the get go and will trust them unconditionally.
On the counter side, Soleil is greatly and mentally disturbed. She takes joy in causing people harm, tormenting younger children and pulling leaves off of plants. She will lie to your face and throw rocks at you. Because her mom subjected her to her mentally disturbed state at such a young age, Soleil has a hard time trusting adults. Soleil has little to no control over most of her powers, mostly because they are sporadic and she isn’t old enough to control them. She carries with her a lot of grief, aggression, anger and depression within her. These all fuel into the Nightmares that plague her. They can happen at any time and to put it plainly, everything she sees, hears, feels and smells will become warped and twisted. People that she doesn’t drag into the nightmares become horrible monsters, She fights and kicks, trying to escape from such horrors. After episodes such as this, she becomes isolated and inconsolable for hours before she will even look at another person again.
Powers ;;
Crazy is as Crazy does: Unlike some of the Bacchus kids around camp, Soleil can cause riots in a matter mere seconds. While people are sober, it’s harder to do, just drink anything thing that someone else has spiked and you’re thinking you’re a dog bouncing around a kennel.
Calm mind: She can easily quell any type of madness or mental disorder that she comes in contact with. It’s sporadic and occasional, but mostly transmitted through skin to skin contact. Also it’s a bit harder for her to do since she can only do it while concentrating extremely hard. Side effects will include migraines, irritability, fever and loss of consciousness.
Alice in Wonderland: Because of issues, Soleil has lucid, vivid and horrible night terrors. While these can happen at any particular time, day or night. If she manages to put skin to skin contact while in this state, whomever she touches will see whatever nightmare she has and feel an overwhelming sense of whatever it is she’s feeling. There is no controlling the dreams or emotions, yet.
Family ;;
Renee DuVin, 60, mother, committed to a mental institution.
Bacchus, immortal, father, he has not claimed her yet.
Timor, grandfather, Roman god of Fear
History ;;
Soleil’s start begins in France, southern France where the grape vines grow big and strong. Her mother was the illigitament child of an unknown man (Timor) and a daughter that was shunned by her parents because of the child. Renee was put in the institution at a young age, where as she grew, she came to know a man there that always smelled of grapes and tried to help those that were mentally distressed. Renee tried hard to overcome the supposed illness that she had. After being forcable diagnosed when nothing was wrong, she slowly became crazy. After a night with the grape smelling man, Renee soon found out that she was pregnant. The hospital deeply frowned upon the idea of patients and doctors having relationships, so she was quickly transferred to isolation where nine months later she had given birth to Soleil. The child was taken from her mother and quickly placed in an orphanage to be adopted.
However the orphanage that she was placed in, was overcrowded and the woman who ran it, mostly dealt with human trafficking. Soleil was ‘adopted’ at the age of two by a seemingly nice family. The mother had only adopted her as to appease her spoilt son’s desire for a little sister. The father was a business man that drabbled in necromancy, left the young toddler mostly to the mother and son to take care of. Since the mother didn’t want anything to do with the toddler anyways, it was left up to the ten year old boy to take care of his adoptive sister. The boy truly did care for Soleil, but after a few months, his mother tired of the three year old and sent her back.
The Next six years were spent bouncing around foster homes, many of them quite nasty. The foster parents that Soleil spent her time with were quite evil, blaming the young child for things that were beyond her control. She was forced to spend house locked in either a closet or a basement, punished corporally for things her foster siblings did blamed on the young child. Her time spent locked away fostered her feelings of guilt and anger towards people that she had never done a thing wrong towards. She didn’t ever do anything to truly deserve the punishment. But after so many years of being punished, told that she was a horrible person, and isolated from other children just because she was blamed for everything that happened, she slowly started to go crazy inside her mind.
At the age of nine, she finally snapped, having a night terror and grabbing ahold of someone. Her foster father had been trying to sneak into her room to lock her in the closet once more but she grabbed ahold of him from pure terror before she roped him into a nightmarish dream world. Ultimately the man was killed and of course Soleil was blamed. She was going to be extradited to the US for first degree murder of a US citizen. On the way to California where she was going to be put into Juvenile detention, until she was to make her first court appearance, something attacked the armored transport that was carrying her. She made an escape and eventually found herself at the wolf house, where Lupa trained her in the ways of the wolves. Soleil barely made it with Lupa’s good graces. She wasn’t very combat oriented but at least she had determination to protect herself from people who would harm her.
Soleil made it to Camp Jupiter, her arrival ensuing a riot as someone had let in a group of hell hounds to run rampant in the camp. She freaked out, causing everyone around her to panic and run amok. She tends to get into trouble because she doesn’t trust those that she considers adults. Soleil does as she wishes without much regard to the safety of others. She trains hard but still has little control over her powers because she’s so young. There also doesn’t seem to be anyone else that can help her rein in the powers that she has.
