* - - Matilda. Aneira. Blair. - - *
Name ;; Matilda Aneira Blair
Nickname(s) ;; Mattie
Age ;; 14
Birthday ;; 12/18
Gender ;; female
Species ;; Demi-God
Immortal Parent ;; Mars, Legacy of Bellona
Years at Camp ;; 5 years
Celebrity Claim ;; Maisie Williams
Appearance ;; Mattie is average for her age but is still waiting for her last growth spurt, making her a bit short to all the older campers that are walking around. She has short, choppy brown hair that is shoulder length and dull brown eyes. She is by no means one of those girls a guy would stare at endlessly, she leaves that to being the Venus girls problems. Instead she’ll walk around, not caring for her appearance and sometimes with caked on dirt and mud from her training, not bothering to take a shower to look halfway decent before hitting the mess hall. When she does have to dress it up it she always seems awkward and out of place. She prefers her no care look, that doesn't mean she doesn't care for personal hygiene. She does shower at night to get the mud and dirt off of her, she has to, she’s so small that there’s not many places it can go so it just cakes on so she always has to scrub it off at times.
Personality ;; Matilda, or Mattie as she prefers to be called is a little rambunctious child. She never wants to stand still and is always working hard. Some of the campers younger than her have probably called her a bully on more than one occasion but that’s because she has a work hard mentality. She wants to be the best and climb the ranks and make her father and grandmother proud. That’s her life, to be a soldier. She follows orders, is disciplined, and mature. However, she is still a kid and at times that does leak out into her entire super soldier mentality.
At times, she will just want to be lazy for a day or she will complain, but those days are few and far between. She blames those grouchy days based on her finally getting into the hand of puberty and its effects on her. She’s trying to grow up too fast and be there for the younger kids, but the older kids still see her as a child so she’s stuck at an awkward point in life, waiting for her turn to truly shine. However, that doesn’t stop her from training hard and constantly trying to prove herself. She never feels she’s good enough and is always trying for improvement.
She tries to take the leadership role whenever it is given to her and tries to remain steady throughout each day despite the losses in her life she always tries to remain optimistic about events. Each day is a new day and you can accomplish something in it. Granted, if you push her she won’t be afraid to get mad at you and try to fight you. She is a child of two war gods, it is best to stay on her good side at all times.
Powers ;; Prowess in Battle: Having both war deities blood in her veins she is a close master to all forms of combat, whether that be with a weapon or a hand to hand combat. It came almost naturally but she still had to work on it during her years at camp.
Warfare: Mattie understands all forms of warfare. With her Bellona side she is also able to understand foreign warfare too if they were to fight outside of their home turf. She is extremely tactful and has great leadership potential.
Weapons: Matilda knows and understands the usage of a majority of weapons. She's not skilled in all of them, finding her weak point when it comes to using a spear, which is a bit embarrassing considering her history, but she works hard at it and is proud of what she can do and won't be afraid to brag about it.
Family ;; Mars - Father
Alyssa Blair - daughter of Bellona, Mother (deceased)
Remus Stone, Charlie-Mack Jolly - Half-siblings
Valerie Smyth - Aunt (deceased)
History ;; Alyssa was a very well known legionnaire during her days at the camp. Granted she wasn’t part of the legion during the wars, within her last year of service she was wounded badly during a mock battle. The infirmary thought she wouldn’t make it and was advised against any extreme physical activity when she finally healed up. However, that didn’t stop her from teaching a self defense class in New Rome to the mortals that lived there. Mars had seen her times before in the legion and was always fascinated by his niece and would often visit her. As she grew older and more beautiful Mars started feeling attracted to her. One night, the god got what he wanted from her, of course Alyssa had always admired Mars from afar so it wasn’t that big of a deal and it blessed her with a child.
Alyssa went into labor nine months later and was blessed with a baby girl who she named Matilda, which meant warrior. However, the labor was a difficult process for her due to her past injuries and it ended up disabling her physical limitations more. Therefore, Matilda had a difficult childhood, growing up quickly mentally to help her mother during her younger years, luckily the civilians in New Rome were eager to help Matilda during her infancy. Matilda spent her toddler years helping her mom out as much as she could. Things only got worse when Alyssa had decided to try practicing in the circus maximus against a younger legionnaire who fought dirty and ended up opening up her thigh, destroying the tender and muscle beyond repair in it. That ended the walking days of Alyssa and she grew into a depression, one that Matilda had a front row seat to witness.
It scared Matilda and she always tried to find ways to make her mom happy. From the age of five to eight Matilda worked extra hard trying to find ways to ensure a smile would creep upon her moms face. However, one morning, Matilda got to sleep in, which was unusual, she usually was up by now to her mom rolling past her bedroom in the wheelchair she had with a promise of breakfast. With a confused, and worried expression, Matilda made her way down the hall to her moms room and knocked on the door several times, upon not getting an answer she walked in to find her moms lifeless body on the bed and a bottle of pills in her hands.
When all the official stuff got take care of the people who claimed to be in charge of her gave her a choice. She could enter the legion early, a month before her ninth birthday, despite a majority of the newbies being ten, or she could leave with a foster family before joining the legion. Matilda, without showing any grief, instead, keeping it festering inside of her, told them that she would join the legion. So she was sent off to Lupa to take part of that training. She worked hard everyday, nothing holding her back. Using her grief to help fill her anger at her opponent, working hard to ensure that she could impress the only family she knew she had left. Her grandmother and father, the siblings of War. That was her goal, to be the best and never leave an enemy capable of destroying her.
With great recommendation, Lupa sent Matilda off to camp. The first year was a struggle. She wasn't the best fighter anymore, nor was she the only descendant of a war god. That only fueled her desire to work harder and harder. Sometimes falling asleep in the practice field after hours due to exhaustion, rather than make the trip back to her barrack. It was a bad habit of hers. Once talk of war started she grew excited. Not to experience the deaths of those around her, but to test her skills on the battlefield. The second great Titan War. It was going to be amazing, she couldn't wait. Finally, this was the time to make her father and grandmother proud. She was not going to let them down. However, as the day of the battle approached she found her centurions trying to have the older campers at the front and the younger at the back, and despite Mattildas efforts she couldn't push up to the front of the battle. Once the war had subsided she was upset. She had barely gotten the chance to show what she was capable of. She put all her anger back in training herself so as not to strike out at anyone not deserving.
Months after the war Matilda found comfort in her Aunt, one of the many relatives she had found in camp at the time. Mattie looked up to Valerie like an older sibling. Someone she could relate to. Of course, she had that with the other Mars kids too, Remus and Charlie especially. But Valerie was the only other Bellona descendant she knew about. She helped her get through her tough time after the war, that, and she was getting annoyed by people asking her if she was okay. So, as a couple of years past and things seemed to be at a peace, Matilda was calmer. Then the horrible day came. The day that Valerie died. At first Matilda didn't believe the news. The rumors of how her body was destroyed. She was shocked and couldn't hold back the grief like she was able to when her mom had died. She started hiding within herself.
Then the next war came. The one against the ultimate titan himself. Matilda, still with grief in her heart, wanted revenge. This was the war she was going to prove herself in. Having been in the legion for half a decade she wasn't going to be pushed to the back. Heck, she wouldn't allow it. As the war came, Matilda fought tooth and nail, losing count of the enemies she had slaughtered, letting her rage control her swords movement. Finally, the war was over and Matilda was tired. She had gotten her revenge, best she could and was calm again. Heck, even finding time to try to make her brothers day better after his lost in the war and to help the younger campers get over the shock of their first war. She was older, wiser, more mature. True, while she was only fourteen, she had gone through so much already and was ready to use what she knew to make it better and using her lineage to destroy anyone who got in her way.
