Name ;; Tomás Yates
Nickname(s) ;; Tom, Tommy
Age ;; 35
Birthday ;; Nov 4
Gender ;; Male
Species ;; Demigod
Immortal Parent ;; Venus
Years at Camp ;; 10 [ RETIRED ]
Celebrity Claim ;; Jensen Ackles
Appearance ;;Tomas has intense green eyes, and handsomely chiseled features. His eyes are set beneath slightly arched eyebrows, thick just over the center of his eye, and thinned out by the outer edges. His brow can sink low, casting a dark shadow over his brilliant green eyes. His lips tend to have a just kissed glow to them, the blood flowing through them making them take a somewhat pink shade.Personality ;;
As a model he keeps close eye on his body shape, and the fat that sometimes like to creep up on him. Even though he's been out of the legion for years he continues his drills to keep that Roman figure. Strong upper body muscles, and legs for distance running. As a model he has to work harder than he did in the Legion to keep his body a specific shape, though he still uses ever muscle.You want to talk about arrogant? Tomas wins the prize for greatest amount of self importance, probably more so than Jupiter and Mars combined. He's proud of where he is in life, having scrapped and clawed his way up from utter poverty. He feels he deserves it, and doesn't regret a single decision he's made. He also won't go back and try to fix mistakes, since he doesn't particularly see them as mistakes. This normally makes him dig himself into deeper and deeper trouble, depending on what it is { *cough* Tessa *cough* )
The only things he really hates are Camp Jupiter and the Military. He doesn't exactly hate the people in it, so much as the structure and what it makes people do. Though he kind of doesn't like the people who make it a living. He's a bit distant from the gods as well, though he doesn't spit on their temples like he might have done in the past. He realized now not a day goes by you don't interact with one some how or other. The thought sickens him a bit.
Now that he's older, and found someone who he really loves, and who loves him, he's more loyal. Not that he wasn't loyal before, but he knows better how he should treat his wife, his daughter. He realizes what he did before was wrong, but he is still too arrogant, and stubborn, to admit it and try to reconcile.
Powers ;;Make Up : : Might be a bit girly, but he can tell exactly what type of make up would suit someone, and is almost like a magician with it. He can even work movie make up into horrifying monsters if he wanted. Generally he doesn't.Family ;;
Social Status : : He has a way of telling who's in charge of any place, the person who actually calls the shots not just who has the title.
Amokinesis : : Tomas is able to manipulate feelings of love, romantic, family, any of them. He can tell who's in love, who they love, how much. All of that, and he can change it. Increase, decrease, even make it dissapear completly. Though only for a few short hours, then their hearts are back to normal.Venus : : motherHistory ;;

He was a conartist that had never fallen in love, not truely, before Venus. Even after she left him he yearned for the love of his life again. Growing up Tomas had to scrounge for every scrap of food he could get. His father tried to take care of him, but cared more about himself than his son. He'd make sure he ate first, then Tomas, which sometimes wasn't at all. Tomas grew up weak from the malnutrition, but enjoyed going to school where he always got free food.
He made many friends, and a few funny looking people as friends. One of them attacked him. A monster, and he was slashed across the back before his teacher kicked him in the face. With hooves? That was wierd. He kept quiet about it, after the first time he mentioned it he could tell the social situation he was in. He could always read that well, even as a child. Though perhaps people don't realize how much children could sense.
He got attacked several times growing up, and was taken away from his father. They thought he was beating him, mistreating his son. He begged them to let him keep the boy, he hoped maybe his mother would come see him one day. He got to keep visiting Tomas, but he couldn't have custody of him anymore. So Tomas grew up in a house with other kids, smiling and making them laugh. He didn't know how to defent himself against the fights, but he knew if he kept people happy he'd only fight with the weird looking ones.
Time finally came to go to the Wolf House, and he was sent away. Not really sure why, but he went wit the person that had come to get him. The woman who had cared for him hugged him, and cried as he left. Told him it was always hard to see the kids go. Though in the end she sent him off with a smile, as much of one as she could manage at least.
He almost died in the Wolf House. Was almost eaten twice, but finally made it through. On his trip to Camp Jupiter he again was attacked, but this time he killed the creature. The moment he got to camp he passed out, thankful he got somewhere safe. Once he woke up though, he wasn't thankful anymore. Training everyday all day, at night, any time he had to fight and run and jump. His muscles screamed for years as he kept having to push himself harder and longer. Some days he's spit on the ground that was at Temple Hill. Curse the gods under his breath. This place must have been hell on earth.
Even amongst the pain, and inevitable death at training accidents, he found friends. They got to do rather normal things, go out to eat, watch plays. He'd want to see movies, but leaving the Valley didn't prove to be a good idea. So he kept doing what he could to survive. Ever since he was little that's all he could do.
He found a girl, fun and beautiful that he fell in love with. They dated, spending as much time together as they could. They broke up, they got back together. It was all in good fun. He dated a few girls in between, when they would break up and get back together. It happened several times. Still they always went back to each other. Then she was pregnant. They were still teenagers, he didn't know what to do. He couldn't leave her, he had to be there. Had to make sure the child didn't have to scrounge for food, and had a good life. She was kicked out of the legion for her own protection, and that of the childs.
Gods the little girl was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He loved her from the moment she was born, bought her everything he could. It wasn't much, because he was still a legionnaire, but it was something. He worked already, he had to in order to take the woman he dated on the best of dates. He even got an extra job to house her, and the woman he loved. Everyday after cohort training he'd go home to them, laughing and having fun with them. When he got out, he took her away from Camp Jupiter, where people looked down on the child they had out of wedlock. Though they were married now, Tessa had attended the wedding with her adorable cooing.
She was such a pleasant baby, a bit needy when it came to her parents being there with her. It didn't take long for Tomas to get a foot hold in the movie industry, and of course modeling. Soon they had money enough to go out and spend on frivolous wants. They began to hire people to clean, to guard, and to take care of Tessa. The nanny's always told them the toddler would cry inconsolably after they left. They would come back to her, and dote on her. Buying her gifts, and showering her with love. Tomas would feed her all good things, since he was a bit of a manic when it came to what you put into your body. He only had one after all, and to get the best you had to give it the best.
After a while Tomas found a girl, or two, that he had fallen in love with. It troubled him, though he didn't cheat on his marriage vows. It was mutually felt, and they split apart, taking equal custody of Tessa. Trading her back and forth was a little bit of a hassle though, figuring out if it was his time to have her, or Kisa's time. Eventually they just decided the house they lived in together would be a good place to put her, and kind of visit her when they could. Sometimes they'd be there together, but that wasn't very often.
He started to take her with him to his auditions, and recordings. To show his beautiful little girl around. Other people seemed to be just as enchanted by her voice as he was, and sometimes he'd loos track of her and when he found her again she'd have gotten something as a gift. Sometimes the people would ask for it back, saying they never gave it to her, that she took it. Camera's where always against them though, it was funny. He knew she could charm speak then, and told her about her gift. He took her to her own auditions. Smiled as he watched others play into her hands. She was his daughter for certain.
It started getting a bit annoying to take her to auditions, and anywhere really. He had others do it for him. It was fun at first, but he grew tired of it. Wanting to farther his own career. Tessa wined about it a bit, but the more she did that the less he wanted to be around her. Even if her voice was cute. Also he bought her too many things when they were together, and he was trying to save money. Mostly because he liked having money, and because he wanted a beach house in the Caribbean.
He got a role in a Television series, which exploded in popularity. Along side that he continued for other roles, but had no want for money anymore. Kisa seemed to be doing well with her music career too, but they both wanted something more. They still talked, they were still friends. They spoke about sending Tessa to Camp Jupiter. To the Wolf House. It was dangerous, and she might be killed by Lupa. In fact he was certain she would be, her fingers never callused and she never got any scars. What kind of Roman would that be? He didn't mention that thought though. Speaking with his ex-wife he said things they would have more of. She joined in adding what benefits could happen from sending Tessa away. It was decided, the next day they drove her to the Wolf house. Kisa did most of the talking, he simply wanted to be done with it. Tessa's voice was so sweet, he wanted to pick her up and take her back home. Though if she didn't die at the Wolf House, certainly a monster would find her and she'd be killed in a much more messy way. No, this way would be quicker.
It wasn't much later, or it hadn't seemed like that much later, that Tomas received a letter from Camp Jupiter. He had almost forgotten they sent Tessa away, but braced himself for the news of her death. The letter inside was not the writing of a seasoned veteran, but of an excited child. He scarcely believed it, putting his elbow on the table and holding his head. He had to read it several times before any of the words registered. Should he be happy? Upset? He wasn't sure. They had told the press Tessa was dead. She might as well have been. She would be in Camp Jupiter, and no one would hear from her again until she left. She'd be twenty by then, if she lived. He burned the letter. Couldn't let it come to the hands of the press.
Every week he or Kisa received the letter, Tessa had only the time to write one a week. They read a few before burning them, but then he just told his secretaries to burn them. Once or twice a secretary would send Tessa somthing out of pity, pretending to be Tomas. Telling her some stuff going on, and signing it. Near Tessa's thirteenth birthday though Tomas passed by a card he liked. It was cute, and funny. It made him think of his daughter, training hard at that stupid camp. He picked it up, and signed it. Telling his secretary to send it, and left it at that. It was the only time he sent her one, though he continued getting birthday cards, and holiday cards from her. Those were usually cute, and it wasn't like it was a whole letter. He could take sometimes to look at those.
In the mean time, his career continued on good terms. His love life was unsteady, hoping from one woman to the next. He liked them, but nothing like the passion he had felt with his first wife. none of them ever took much work, he used his powers of love once in a while to make girls fall for him. It was a fun game sometimes, just to see how much it would take to make them fall head over heels for him. Then just break their hearts. Women where always more beautiful after a heart break.
One woman captivated him like nothing else could. A graceful gymnast. He thought he'd play a game with her, flirting with her, using his powers to get her to love him. Anything and everything, but still it seemed like nothing he could do would make this woman go crazy for him. He chased her and chased her, until finally he proposed. It was the strangest thing. He loved her, he really loved her. Passionately, and gently. Something he never had with anyone else was the fact he felt he never had to play pretend with her. That she enjoyed him drooling in his sleep as much as she enjoyed his professional look, or his seductive look. She was like an oasis, somewhere he could comfortably retreat to. It was amazing.
He had a child with her, a baby girl. She didn't seem to have any special powers. He was glad, she'd never be hunted by monsters, and above all she wouldn't have to go to Camp Jupiter. He loved his new family, and for the most part forgot about his old one. He hardly saw Kisa anymore, and Tessa was never on his mind.
War broke out, he was in New York when it happened. He hid from the battle, his wife and daughter fast asleep in his arms. Praying for it to all go away. Meghan was only just born, she couldn't die. Luckily everything passed. The monsters lost, and everything seemed to move on as normal. He saw the same signs again, and took his family on a vacation outside of the United States. Hoping they would be able to stay out of it, talking to an old friend from Camp before he finally returned when all had passed.
His friend said some things had changed. That it wasn't so bad anymore, and new great restaurants where opening up. Good people where in charge of the cohorts, and that hardly anyone was dying with the medical improvements. He wasn't sure what to believe, so he thought he might take some time to visit. Just a little bit....
