Appearance ;; In life, Meg was always seen with a smile and a skip in her step. At 3'6" she posed little threat to anyone, human or monster. She kept her brown hair short with a couple wisps for bangs. She usually wore a headband, clip, or bow in her hair. She had her ears pierced as a baby, but only ended up wearing earrings for special occasions and so her holes wouldn't close. Her eyes, like her hair, were brown. Brown, bright, and always darting everywhere. She'd usually wear simple, solid colored, bright clothing. She had recently lost her first tooth and she was always wearing a bracelet that Ed had made her. In death, and as a Lar, Meg has a purple tinge to her. She died in short sleeved pajamas and sleep pants. While above ground, her hair and pajamas appear singed. They give off periodic wisps of white, transparent smoke. On her right arm is the inverse of what it looked like in real life: a hand print burned onto clear skin. As a ghost, she's invisible (and inaudible) to all but the gods Trivia, Mors, Pluto, and their respective kin. She's tinged white, so, if not a relative of said gods, and standing really still, others would probably be able to see a faint outline of her.
Personality ;; Meghan's your typical six year old. Innocent, happy, and fun loving. Being dead and waiting for Edmund to show up has done little to damper her spirt, but waiting has made her a bit more on the impatient side. She's mostly a sweet girl, but being a grand daughter of Discordia does come with it's ups and downs. It was mostly when she was really little and before Alexis taught her control, but she would weave her minor discord power into her crying and occasional tantrums. Growing up, she's wanted to become more independent. She's a big girl who can do a lot of things by herself (sometimes... mostly). Still, she's only six. She gets confused easily. She asks questions. She's naturally curious. She has a tendency to get into trouble if not looked after. Sometimes she's mindless in though, word, and action; her filter is still a work in progress. She can be quite the chatterbox, and most of the time it's about either herself or people she knows. She's coming to the understanding that people have different points of views. That being so, she's rather contradictory. She flips convictions (and conversations) on the tip of a hat, and is trying to understand "grey areas". Most of the time, she's still in need of approval and comfort from adults she's comfortable with (and for her "adult" means everyone that looks older than her). She dreams of traveling like her dad, being able to make things like her brother, and becoming a pirate.
Being a child, she can read other people's emotions and pick up the mood of a situation easily. She's still learning how to adjust her attitude accordingly and appropriately, but is getting better. Meg is still overly trusting if she's with someone she knows. However, she's the first to hide and show signs of mild separation anxiety if she is alone or with strangers. She tries to see the best in everyone, and naturally thinks that no one's out to purposefully hurt her, but usually has to be prompted by someone she knows to trust someone she doesn't.
Powers ;; As a grand daughter of a minor goddess, Meg doesn't have many powers. At all. Like all other demigods, she has ADHD, dyslexia, and then a minor power of discord. Like Ed, she can only cause strife between herself and another person. She doesn't really know she has this power since her mother taught her how to control it early on, and doesn't have any remembrance of it. Alexis didn't bring any of it up to her after she died. However, as a ghost, she wouldn't be able to use it anyway. As a ghost, she is able to to turn invisible and phase through anything.
Family ;;
- Alexis Simons - Mother
- James Simons - Father
- Edmund Simons -
HalfBrother- Emalia Smith - Aunt
History ;; James met Alexis at a computer programming company a few years after Alexis left the Legion. They walked passed each other every day for months without a second glance. Then, one day, James decided to goof off with friends and do Star Wars impressions in the middle of the break room. That really got Alexis's attention. More than that, she even decided to join in and one uped him. James took it in stride, and after they noticed a few glances between the two of them, his friends started to nudge him him. So, right before she left to go back to work, James bucked up and asked her out. She never told James about her life as a demigod. He was a mortal... and she didn't want to turn his life topsy turvy, although she did know what had to happen with Ed, and what would have to happen if they were to ever have children. Still, she desperately wanted another child... and maybe a chance to just be normal. Within a year, they were married. Soon after, Alexis got pregnant.
Meghan was born on April 5 at 2:30 in the morning. Unlike Edmund, she had to be delivered by C-Section. Like Edmund, she came out kicking and screaming. After her maternity leave, Alexis made the executive decision to work from home. A few months later, James was offered a promotion and started traveling every few months. Meghan grew up surrounded by love; overall, she was a rather easy baby. When she was extremely little, she tended to weave a bit of discord into her crying when she was hungry or wanting attention. As soon as she was able to though, Alexis started teaching her how to control it, and it hasn't been a problem since. Being the legacy of a minor god did have it's perks though. Monsters never came for her. She never had to switch Mommy and Me or Pre-K programs. Instead, that all happened to her brother. Not that she really noticed, or cared. Sometimes she would notice that her parents were angry and Ed was upset, but that was the extent of it. She grew up happy: playing with her Mommy and Me classmates, the neighbors's children, and Ed and the little trinkets he made her. Neither knew they were half siblings. Not that it mattered to them, as differences matter little when one's that young. She remembered being happy, playing outside, helping build cities, playing with a doll house, helping make food, pretending she was a pirate, reading picture books, watching Ed make planes, movie nights, popcorn, and then a fire.
Like her mother and father, Meg was crushed by the ceiling. The firefighters had the easiest time getting her out of the rubble: she was already half sticking out. In the end, her full body, fifth burns ended her life faster than choking on the smoke did. She didn't even last the ambulance ride. They tried reviving her, but by then, she had already taken the hand of a nice looking being with wings. She went quietly with Mors and traveled down into the underworld where Alexis and James arrived a few hours later. They weren't sure how long they waited initially, thinking that Ed was next, but he never came. That's when the real waiting game started. Time slipped away from her as she watched people coming and leaving to go on a gigantic line. They wanted them to join, but her family, along with several others, refused, insisting that they were waiting until everyone in their family was there. Over time, some full families joined the waiting line, and others came to wait for theirs to be completed. She would talk with other children and adults, never thinking that there were so many ways to die.
Then, three years ago, people in really old, armor looking uniforms started flooding in. Not that Meghan hadn't seen that before. It was something that her father had called a war. But these people were different... and her mom seemed to have a reaction to it. After that, Meg and James ended up asking her what was wrong. And so the stories about the demigods, gods, and Camp Jupiter began. Meg didn't have that hard of a time believing it, being an eternal six year old with an overactive imagination. It was more James who took the shock. With the thought settled that Ed wasn't there, it was back to the waiting game. Then, a few months ago, another wave of Romans came though. Another war. Once again, no Edmund. Happy that he wasn't dead, yet becoming more and more impatient, Meghan started wandering around the underworld, thinking they missed him. She eventually found her way to Pluto. Despite being told about his position of power, Meg wasn't very deterred. He was nicer than most people made him out to be. She told him about her brother and about her curiosity of the place she was never able to go to. A place her mom called "Camp Jupiter".
After a few chats, Pluto agreed to let her back into the living world on a sort of "holiday" for good behavior. With his blessing, she became a slightly tinged white ghost and pinky promised to come back to the underworld after two months. After telling her parents, Meg popped up in Camp Jupiter. Sir Pluto must've talked to other spirits there, because waiting there for her were two very nice people who introduced themselves as Kaylee and Nick. They said they'd be like her parents during her visit, like chaperones on a field trip. Meg eagerly agreed, and with their permission and companionship, she started her way around camp, adventuring, and hoping to find new friends and her brother.[/blockquote]
