Appearance ;; Zane is tall; well if you can call standing at five feet eight inches tall, compared to some of the people in camp he feels really short. The guys who tower over six feet tall are the ones he feels short next to. Besides the fact he is semi-tall he has an athletic build thanks to years of training in the legion and training still outside of the legion. One can never be to prepared in case anything else happened like another war, two wars so far was enough. To top it all off he had short brown hair on the top of his head, his eyes are a sharp chocolate brown color. From all the battles he has scars on his chest and back. In the second war he took an arrow through his chest. If you look on his back you’ll find a scar from where a sword cut him open when he was busy watching members of fourth cohort.
Personality ;; Flirty: Zane has been flirty since he was about thirteen. He started young when he learned the value of getting secrets and what secrets could do. Those were the best things that you could get. Sure getting paid for being in the legion was amazing but then again having people’s secrets was the best currency around. The best way to get these secrets was from girls. They were the easiest ones to manipulate and he would be able to get the secrets from them with ease. To him the Venus daughters were the ones easiest to get secrets from.
Brave: Being in the legion makes one brave in the face of danger, you always had to be when you had the threat of going to war. Because of his parentage he made sure to excel in combat. He never flinched in the face of danger and did everything to protect the people he fought beside when there was a tough battle. It came out during the wars even more when he was recalled to active duty.
Kind: The part of his personality that he keeps secret from all except the very few that he actually trusts. Being someone who collects and deals in secrets he knows their power and doesn’t like many people to know how kind and nice he actually is. On the outside he might be cocky, arrogant and overconfident but on the inside there is so much more to him than he lets off. If he really does care about someone he will let them know more with his actions than with his words.
Powers ;; Melinoe Legacy:
Necromancy: Like his grandmother and mother he can call the undead from the underworld. Well not skeletons like his aunts, uncles and cousins or any child of Pluto, he can only summon ghosts back from the underworld. It’s one he’s found comes in handy quite a lot in the past when he needs to get information. With this dominion of the dead like his grandmother and mother he can see ghosts, talk to ghosts, grab a ghost or silence them.
Destroy Skeleton Warriors: Like his grandmother and mother he also gains the power to destroy Skeleton Warriors. It’s not something to big but if they’re summoned to fight against him he will use this power to deal with them so the fight can be even once more.
Sors:
Lady Luck: This one is easy and just like it says he has the power over luck thanks to his father. He normally uses this power when he’s playing games allowing him to win every time. He loves to take trips to Las Vegas just to cash out and win quite a bit from the casinos. Just like his father he loves to help out the members of his ex cohort. During the wars he was on the front line not only fighting with them but he was also using his powers on his members so they would never miss their marks when shooting their arrows in battle.

History ;; Damien Shaw, this was where it all started out. Zane’s grandfather and the one who brought his whole family into this line. Damien grew up as a child who always had an interest in death, decay and everything dark that happened after life ended. It was a little morbid but from the moment he was seven he knew what he wanted to do with his life. He wanted to be a mortician when he grew up. That fascination with death and working in the graveyard even at hours everyone was asleep is what led him to an encounter that would change his life. One night he was outside working late in the graveyard when he heard something weird. It was a woman that was walking through it, late at night….alone. She intrigued him so he went over and talked to her. Their talk would have lasted well into the morning if she didn’t leave before the sun came up.
For days that woman intrigued him and he spent every night hoping to see her again. Like all morticians he spent time having to dig the graves too. So when he was out there a month later digging another grave he met the woman again. They got to know more about each other and got closer. She was mysterious and amazing. Two years later he was given a gift after she disappeared. It was a little baby girl and a note came with her. He named the little girl Joslyn as per her mothers’ wishes. It was a shock to learn about who the woman was, the goddess Melinoe.
Joslyn grew stronger as she grew enjoying her power over the dead, well more like ghosts. When she was eight she had to be taken to camp early because she was attracting attention. She trained for a long time with Lupa to make sure she was fit to go into camp. Becoming the best warrior she could be she got herself into second cohort and worked her way up from there.
When she finally retired from the Legion she realized she had prayed to the god of luck a lot. She continued to do so even then because she was willing to fight for the legion and she believed it helped when all her arrows hit their mark. She not only had luck while she was practicing but she realized she had a lot more luck than normal which began to intrigue her.
Two years after she left the legion she was working as one of those psychics who could talk to the dead that people thought was fake. The only issue was she was real because of her powers she could summon spirits. While she was out one day she ran into the god of luck himself, Sors. She had gotten his attention and they dated for a little while. A year after they first met Zane was born. Thankfully she lived in New Rome so she was able to raise her son in safety and train him until he was old enough to go to Lupa and head to the legion.
Zane made his way through training pretty quickly and then joined up with fourth cohort, it was a low one but he was proud to be in it. His whole time in the legion he made sure to train and help his fellow cohort members out. His whole time in the legion was pretty calm; it wasn’t until he was out that everything happened. When the war hit he rejoined the legion and picked up arms to fight with them. As everything was settled he made his way back to the university that was in New Rome. He worked as well as went to classes that was until the titan war came up. Once more he was thrown back into the thick of battle. While battling he used his powers from his father to help the members in fourth cohort out. The luck he gave them allowed them all to battle without worrying about serious injury to much. Because he focused to much on his fellow members and saving them he didn’t notice the person who got behind him and sliced his back open. It left him incapacitated for a while and out of the fighting until the end of the war.
Currently he lives in an apartment in New Rome while going to university to get a degree in statistics. The one thing he’s happy about it that it’s currently a time of peace and that he can relax and take some time off.
