Gender ;; Female
Species ;; Demi-god
Immortal Parent ;; Triton

Appearance ;;
Tanned skin and blond hair are a natural feature of this daughter of Triton. She stands at an average height of five feet and seven inches. In America, her looks would be traditionally seen as good looking, but in Japan, she is considered to be an outsider amongst the locals. Because of her looks, she was often bullied. For the most part, she wears her hair in a golden braid to the side so it can be put up and away so it doesn't bother her. A very distinguishing mark is the smattering of blue and silver scales that line her spine as if they were freckles. She also has a few visible scales just behind her ears as well, just two or three. Her arms have a bit of an enlarged ridge along her lower arms side (see powers) and small spines protrude from them at times. The scales and spines were something that she hid from people while she was younger, but now that she's older and has been through the war, she is a bit more comfortable with people seeing them.
Personality ;;
Before the war, Ava was a shy person. While Ava can be strong and independent, she can be quite hard on herself. There are many times where she believes that she isn't as good as everyone else. Ava does her best and tries hard and despite people saying that she's doing fine, she doesn't believe them. She is disciplined and strong, though she has a super hard time asking people for help, she's stubborn. Ava hates having to rely on other people to help her be strong, she sees herself as the weak link in the Roman chain. She has no idea even how she managed to make it out of Lupa's alive. But after the War, Ava changed. She is determined more now than ever to get stronger.
Ever the optimist, Ava believes in the best of people. She likes to see the silver lining in the gray clouds and wants people to believe that they are worth more than they think. Ava is encouraging and does her best to help people see what she sees in them. One of her favorite things in the world is meditation. She wants to bring inner peace to the people that she loves and cares about, and she feels as if a hot cup of green tea with honey is the answer to all of the problems that life could possibly throw at you. Ava has been taken advantage of because of her optimism, but she still tends to keep her spirits up. Ava cares about people and she cares about them deeply. She would move mountains to help her friends with any problems that she could.
Powers ;;
Spines and scales- Ava has an incredible natural ability that her skin, upon closer inspection, is covered in scales. This acts like a natural armor where it would take a stronger hit than usual to pierce her skin. It doesn't make her impervious to blows or injuries, however it does help her swim faster. And like a Lion fish, she has ridges along her arms where she can protrude spines. The spines are small, only protruding about an inch or two from her skin, but sharp. A natural weapon for someone who may get to close.
Echolocation- Like a dolphin and many other undersea creatures, Ava has an incredible ability that allows her to use sound to create a visual map in her mind without having to see what's in front of her. She uses sound to tell the location of an object or person by emitting a shrill whistle or a click to bounce off an object. Too much loud noise can overwhelm her senses and give her a horrible headache. With this ability, the wars she has fought in has left her unconscious from too much noise that has assaulted her ears and mind.
Water healing- Like children of Neptune, Ava was born of a sea god. So to the sea (water) she returns when she is feeling sick, rundown or injured. Water can help her heal up her injuries quickly, provided they are not too bad. Fractures, scrapes and bruises heal in minutes, though much more powerful wounds have needed days with hydro therapy for her to get back to normal.

History ;;
Ava was never privy to learning about her father. Every question that she asked her mother was met with a swift “Do not ask questions!”. Her parents were together for as long as she could remember. Kanta had always been in her life. She was originally from a town in Washington State, though before Ava could even walk and talk, she moved to Japan. More specifically a small island. Her step-father was the owner of a fishing company, so it was easy to see where Ava had gotten her love of the ocean. Ava's parents had always told her the usual, she would speak when spoken to, be quiet and allow the adults to do their own thing without bothering them. She deeply cared and loves her brother Akihiko, which she called Aki. The two children were close, playing together in tide pools of the island, finding shells and all manners of creatures to keep in pails before returning them to their natural habitat.
Ava grew up mostly knowing the small town of Nurishima. The fishing village was small, and the Ishihara industries that was the main fishing industry that kept the small island afloat. The small population of people meant that Ava stood out against the other Japanese kids in the village. While the main village was the base of the operations and the home of the family, Kanta would mostly do business in near by Kyoto. Ava would attend the local elementary school. Ava was always a studious child, someone who enjoyed learning, but the curriculum of the local elementary school dealt a lot with swimming and fishing, as it was the island's main industry and means of making money. Ava's favorite thing about school was large aquarium that was in the front hall of the school lobby. Many of the villagers would bring rare and exciting fish that they would find in their nets. Ava's teacher promised that if she did her work as best as she could, and didn't make much trouble, she'd be able to take care of the aquarium after school before clubs. At the elementary school, she was bullied by some of the other children as she was different from them. While they had black hair and dark eyes, she had blond hair and blue eyes. Her brother would often stand up for her, becoming her best friend. She often felt isolated and it was horrible for a child who was in a class of ten people, four girls and six boys.
At the age of ten, her mother told her about her father. That he was a god of the sea, that she was to be sent someplace special so she could learn to be safe and to keep the monsters away. There was a long plane ride, which was filled with turbulance and quite frankly scared Ava. Her mother had told her that now that Ava knew she was a demi-god, the monsters would come. They would try to eat her. There was a reason that her mother had kept the truth from her daughter for so long. To be dropped off at the Wolf house was a terrifying experience. Ava still to this day couldn't tell you how she managed to survive in the presence of the She-wolf. There were many times that Lupa had threatened to eat the girl, but after a week and a half, Ava was sent on her way south to camp. The monsters were few, a harpy here, a wild hell hound there, but once Ava made it to the river, the water healed the cuts and scrapes and bruises, revitalizing her. She ran, moving to the middle of camp where she was immoderately registered and thrown into the life of a Roman. There was no lying that camp some what freaked out Ava. She wasn't sure of what she was going to do as her previous training was a bit of a help, but at the same time it was horribly different. Doing things the Roman way meant sucking everything up and soldiering on. One girl even went as far to tell her to put on her soldier boots and to move on with her life. She wasn't going anywhere and it didn't matter how she felt, she was here to be a Roman.
War is hell. Ava knows that all too well. After the first war that she had fought in, she had realized that she was not exactly the strongest link in the Roman chain. Ava resigned herself to become a better Roman, to become a stronger person. She started training harder and more often then anyone she knew. By the time the next war against the titans came around, she was much more capable and ready to defend herself. Even though her strength had gotten better, her abilities had gotten the better of her. Her echolocation abilities had been overwhelmed against her. The noise had horribly hit her senses, rendering her unconscious due to the massive noise from the war. She had ruptured an ear drum and lost her sense of balance, rendering her nearly useless for the rest of the fight. Luckily she was able to get to the medical tending that she needed quickly. But because of this she is partially deaf in her right ear, asking people to speak a bit louder so she won't have to get an implant or something to fully fix the situation. She's cautious about making sure that people don't find out about it.
Now there is peace, for now. Ava is a bit paranoid, in a way, that she believes that this peace is turning into complacency. She trains harder now in peace time, feeling that there is a need to find the inner peace of self so she can become a better warrior and fighter. She is driven to make people that she comes in contact with happy, peaceful. She wants them to find that silver lining against the stormy clouds. Ava does the best she can to encourage the people around her to see the good in themselves, to see what she sees in them. But for all the encouragement, she wants to be ready to meet what ever challenge will come on the horrizon.
