Hello Everyone!
Finally, another grueling Activity Check behind us! So let's celebrate!
It's the holidays! Saturnalia is upon us! Multi-day parties and sparkling juice (camp full of teens, you expected alcohol? )! Par-tay! Sure, the holiday is named after the Titan who just caused yet another war... we'll just ignore that. Let's celebrate the transition into a new season and a new year in Roman style!
Now on to the site!
Let's all give a big, warm welcome to our new member: DORTHE! Yay Dorthe! One character accepted and blossoming on the boards already in the form of our daring Miss Orwell, and another sitting on the side ready to pounce as soon as he gets that acceptance stamp! Welcome to the family, Dorthe!
As for the rest of you old hats, keep up the awesome work! We love you all and your fantabulous!
2017 is not too far away! We've got a lot in store. The gauntlet is now thrown to challenge all of you to come up with your best new site-wide plot ideas! Winner gets a battle stallion in full Roman regalia! Or... a picture of one I found on Google. It'll be awesome though!
That aside, we are actively seeking Centurions! Positions open are:
First Cohort - needs 1 centurion
Second Cohort - needs 1 centurion
Third Cohort - needs 2 centurions
Fourth Cohort - needs 2 centurions
Fifth Cohort - needs 2 centurions
How do I become a centurion, you ask? Excellent question! Let's talk about that! Centurions are premium soldiers who display leadership qualities within their cohort. They must be at least 15 years of age and be active on the boards. Centurions are expected to organize and lead training sessions. They have their own offices within the Principia, though still answer to the two Praetors, making them the second highest rank within the military side of Camp Jupiter. Each cohort has two. Centurions are the group from which new Praetors are chosen when a previous retires or dies on the battlefield, with the aide of popular vote and an augury.
All active members are eligible to play a soldier of rank like one of these centurions! Centurions are chosen by the staff, and are awarded based on activity and, of course, the personality of the character in question (can't have a leader of a cohort be a hermit!).
And that concludes our December 2016 newsletter. You all enjoy the rest of the year, happy posting, and IO SATURNALIA!
