DOMINIC STAUSS
Name:: Dominic Stauss
Nickname:: Dom
Age:: 18
Gender:: Male
Species:: Demi-God
Olympian Parent:: Pluto
Years at Camp:: lived in New Rome since he was an infant, but lived and attended camp for 5 years.
Celebrity Claim: Nolan Gerard Funk
Appearance:: Dominic tends to wear dark or neutral colors, mostly grays and blacks. His signature article of clothing is his long black trench coat. When he isnt wearing his trench coat, Dominic wears a simple basic tee, with his dark wash or black jeans with combat boots. He stands 61 tall with dark blue eyes that almost appear gray, with dark brown hair. Dominic doesnt smile very often and when he does there is a sadistic or creepy feeling one gets when looking at it. Dominic doesnt let his emotions show on his face. Frustrated by his missing thoughts, Dominic is usually in a foul mood. It feels natural to him to be very cold and distant.
Personality:: Dominic doesnt remember who he is or was before leaving the Lotus Hotel and Casino. He finds it natural to be distant from others and feels awkward when talking to others or attempting to make friends. Even the word friends feels weird rolling off his tongue. Previously Dominic had been a killer, highly ambitious, ruthless and dedicated to wiping out any Greek Demigod he could find. The death never bothered him, he knows that he has killed people in the past but with the holes in his memory Dominic feels guilt for what he might have done. He struggles to remember his past and is almost afraid to know it. All of the new technology is strange to Dominic, which leads him to believe that he is much older than his actual age. He has no idea how long he was in the casino but everything seems so different. His clothing was even out of style when he left the Lotus. It took Dominic a while but he became used to the technology.
Dominic, regardless of not knowing who he is, still retains some of his qualities from before. He is very blunt about his opinion and has developed tough outer shell. Insults and words do not harm him and he doesnt react much to threats. He doesnt care openly for others and finds many people a waste of time. Dominic wants to regain his memory and he hopes that being back at this place called the Legion it will happen, so far nothing much but a few blurred images of sword training, no faces or names. Dominic is very frustrated by his lack of memory and his temper is on a very short stick, it doesnt take much to set him off. He has no patience for people, and lacks a sense of humor. Being polite is something Dominic is oblivious to, real human emotions is another. He doesnt know what to do when he sees someone crying, it freaks him out. Its not that Dominic has never cried, but he doesnt show these emotions to others. He cant explain as to why other than it seems natural to him.
Dominic knows vaguely that he has killed people before even if he doesnt know the reason. He feels guilty for killing them not understanding how he could be capable of such a thing. It is a daunting memory that looms over him. He isnt mean to people for the sake of being mean, he just prefers to be alone and anyone who tries to talk or get close to him does so at their own risk.

History::
Dominic doesnt know who he is. Before waking up in the Lotus Hotel three years ago, he couldnt tell you what his childhood was like or his mother was. The only knowledge Dominic has of his past includes knowing he is a Roman demi-god, his father is Pluto, his name, and that he has killed people. Many people. For the last three years Dominic has been traveling in hopes of regaining the memories of his past. Only a few blurry images have come through and unfortunately they have all been images of death. One memory has come back to him and thats of a Roman camp called the Legion. Dominic has returned to the Legion with the intent on remembering the past.
THE FORGOTTEN PAST
Dominic was born to Sarah Carpenter in 1905 and was the son of the Roman God Pluto. Sarah was a singer and actress for the stage in San Francisco at the time. She was exceptionally vain and beautiful. Pluto saw her and the fortune she had and was smitten by her beauty alone. He took her one night after a show claiming he was a talent scout. Ambitious as she was, Sarah went with him without hesitation. When Pluto left Sarah realized he had lied to her and upon finding out she was pregnant with his child she tried to end it. But Pluto came back to her and fully explained who and what he was. He told Sarah to at least give him the child once it was born but she had to go through with the pregnancy lest something terrible happen to her on his account. Sarah obeyed fearful of Pluto warning.
Once Dominic was born, unnamed at the time, Pluto came and took his son. He knew that Sarah would not care for the child and might even try to drown or harm him out of spite. Pluto gave the child to a demi-god family in New Rome. The couple, Mary and James Stauss had no children as Mary was unable to bare them. Mary, the daughter of Bellona was overjoyed to have a son. James, a Legacy of Apollo had been raised in the Legion. They named the baby after Jamess father a son of Apollo, Dominic.
Dominic grew up in New Rome, and was taught sword training at a young age by his mother. He learned how to properly hold a sword by age six and was already practicing his footwork by seven. His father was the musically talented of the two and always promoted Dominic to take up singing or some kind of instrument. However, Dominic always preferred war games over his fathers choice in activities. Dominic knew that Mary and James were not his birth parents and in truth it never really bothered him. The only thing that did bug him was the fact that he never saw his real father Pluto. When Dominic was nine he was sent off to the Wolf House to be judged by Lupa.
Lupa saw great potential and even feared what Dominic might become. He had dangerous ambition and a need to prove himself. She sent him back to Legion with nothing but the sword in his hand. Dominic naturally met challenges along the way but with the early sword and battle training from his mother, Dominic was able to handle himself. During his journey back to the Legion Dominic discovered how to shadow travel. It was extremely difficult and not exactly pleasant but occurred out of desperation when Dominic was trying to escape from a hellhound. He didnt try it again until a few years later. He made it back to the Legion with only two broken fingers and a few scratches. Dominic was ready to begin his actual training.
Dominic was a fast and eager learner with a bit of a cold personality toward others. He learned to be tough from his mother and showed little to no mercy during his training sessions. When Dominic discovered his abilities as a child of Pluto, he began to utilize them heavily in battle. He learned to shadow travel without problem at eleven and used it wherever he went, even if it meant walking across the camp. People at camp feared him and tended to avoid Dominic at all cost. As a result he had little to no friends, but it didnt bother him much. Dominic always saw himself as a loner anyway and cared little for others except his parents. The Praetors at camp found that Dominic was quite good at killing things and it worried them at how much he enjoyed it. During the War Games when Dominic was 14 he actually killed a kid of Mars not entirely by accident. Dominic showed no remorse for the death stating that it was part of the game, and the son of Mars happened to be on the losing side. Mars was furious at both Dominic and Pluto for this and very nearly started a War. He was sent from the Legion afterward not welcomed to come back. Dominics parents tried to fight for their sons rights to stay but it was claimed to be the best thing for the camp and its members. They deemed Dominic mad and not right to stay at camp.
Dominic was practically indifferent about his expulsion from camp, believing that he had already learned everything he could. Dominic set out to live on his own. Pluto came to speak to him once or twice and each time Dominic met his father with cold indifference. He knew it wouldnt be safe for him to live alone as a 14-year-old kid and Pluto suggested finding his birth mother Sarah. Dominic refused knowing that if she didnt want him as a baby there was no possible way she could want him as a teenager. For a year Dominic traveled seeking and killing monsters where he could, as he found it something to do.
A few months into his monster hunt, Dominic came across what could only be another demigod after Dominic saw him fighting off a hellhound and not confused by the mist. He assisted the kid only to find out that he claimed to be a son of Athena. Confused by the usage of the Greek name, Dominic and the boy had a talk. It finally registered with Dominic that there were two separate demigod groups, Greek and Roman. Once discovering the boy was Greek, Dominic felt an indescribable amount of hate burn inside of him. He attacked the boy and after a short altercation killed him. Dominic felt he had a new purpose, to dispose of the Greeks.
Dominic began to seek out Greek demigods. It proved a challenge at first but after a while Dominics body count accumulated to at least half a dozen demigods in three months, most of them were not aware they were demigods yet. Pluto came to Dominic again to warn him to stop what he was doing, suggesting it would cause a war. Dominic was intrigued by this and only further continued to kill demigods. He tried to locate their camp discovering, after a few torture sessions, that it laid on the east coast of America. That was his next destination but this time Jupiter came to him in warning stating if he did not stop what he was doing, he would pay with his life. Dominic showed no signs of backing down even in the face of Jupiter.
Pluto stepped in one final time and as a last resort he wiped his sons mind and sent him into a coma like state. Pluto didnt have the heart to kill him but needed to remove him in fear of a War. He placed Dominic in the Lotus Hotel in a special room to himself asleep. Dominic would not age and remained there for years until the God of the Underworld decided during the last Titan War his son may be of use. He woke the child but his memory, shrouded in the mist for so long did not return. Instead, safe and his past laying dormant Dominic left the hotel with nothing but his name.
