Appearance ;; Mars, the bringer of battle, stands at a menacing 6’9”. His build is imposing and threatening to anyone who is (un)lucky enough to cross his path. Mars’ eyes are always intense with focus and they burn like mini suns. His shoulders are broad and strong, Mars’ arms are even stronger. He doesn’t look like a body builder, but with the classic hero look. His chin is strong, though it is mostly hidden behind a good amount of stubble. Though he can pick and choose the form in which he appears, he tends to choose a form that looks like a soldier, be it from any part in history. His godly aura is red and it emanates from him like a small super nova. His walk is proud and effortless; Mars always walks with his head held high. No matter the clothes that he wears, one can tell that Mars is built for war. His face is scarred and his wrap around shades almost nearly hides the small suns that he has for eyes.
His clothes, no matter how he appears to mortals physically, consist of two different outfits. His first is as a soldier. Dressed in camouflaged battle dress and tightly laced combat boots, he looks and dresses like a ready for combat soldier. In his soldier form, his hair stays tightly cut and his jawline is cleanly shaved. Or he tends to appear as a biker of sorts. In this style of dress he dons a leather jacket with a pair of matching leather gloves. His jeans are worn and faded. Mars’ leather boots are polished and neatly shined. Mars is a lover of leather, so he likes to appear in a leather jacket and boot in almost an form he takes other than his look as a soldier.
Personality ;;
Violent and brutal are two of the words that best describe Mars, the god of War. He rarely shows mercy to his opponents and doesn’t understand the concept of defeat. His tenacity and discipline are second to none, except for maybe his twin sister. He stands for the good righteous battle and dispises battles without cause and end. Mars truly cares about the Romans and since they are his children, he will protect them as best he can without overstepping his bounds. In essence that means he will tell them that something is wrong and to go fix it. Mars is always blunt and never believes in leaving people to wonder about what he said. He is always to the point about what he wants from other people so there is absolutely no mistaking his orders. Mars is very quick to anger and take insult to things that people say, and at times, his sword arm is faster than his mind in realizing that not everything that is said is to be taken as an insult.
Mars prides himself on being one of the main patron gods of Rome. He always appears with a bang to watch the mortal beings scramble about in their fashion to please. Unlike many of the other gods, he will almost always make his presence known to the people around him. He enjoys it when people cower in fear and look to him in reverence. If anyone was to have a massive ego, it’s Mars. He always is the first to charge into battle and is quick to make a change of strategy if it is necessary. Mars will always find the harshest and most brutal way to put his enemies down. He revels in bloodbath and truly enjoys watching the enemies of Rome being crushed without one iota of hope. To cross Mars is to find yourself in more trouble then you could ever imagine. His wrath is relentless and nearly never ending. Should you find yourself having crossed the god of war, look to have your sword arm fail you at the most dire of times.
Mars has a thing for women. Most of the time he likes a woman in uniform, whether they are doing their duty to protect their country or those that serve and protect as police, he loves women who have dedication, discipline and a certain fire to their personality. He absolutely loves a woman in uniform, to him there is nothing better. Though none of the mortal women can compare to his love of Venus, she is the only one to ever make the god of war feel like a fool. Mars dislikes being made the fool, but will tolerate it if it’s by Venus.

History ;;
Juno was furious with Jupiter. After he birthed Minerva from his mind, Juno sought to restore balance and of course, show up her husband. After consorting with the goddess, Flora, Juno was given a magical flower. After this flower was ritually plucked by Flora, she touched Juno’s belly and immediately became impregnated with Mars.
So Mars was born out of spite, so to say. And of course growing up with a mother like Juno is never easy. Of course his twin sister Bellona was always the favorite one. But despite all of that, Mars never resented his sister. They were inseparable and thick as thieves. Mars was at least grateful that he wasn’t like his brother Vulcan, their mother seemed to dislike him most of all. It was hard to get his father’s attention though. Minerva seemed to be the favorite there. So it was only natural that Mars and Minerva became rivals.
Rhea was one hell of a woman that had caught the god of war’s eye. Their relationship was brief and out of it was produced two sons. Romulus and Remus. But as was by the rule of his father Jupiter, Mars was not to have any sort of relationship with his offspring. He was saddened by this but was determined to have his sons succeed. They were left to drown in the Tiber river, Mars sent the woodpecker to feed them and Lupa to suckle them. Soon they were found by a shepherd. His son Romulus went on to found the city of Rome, which Mars had become a patron deity.
Soon the Roman Empire fell and with it moved the gods. After a bit of shuffling about, Mars ended up finding a new home in America. In the Revolutionary War he sided with the colonists, believing their cause to be more just and righteous. Then came the Civil War in which he took upon the mantle of the confederate troops. But that was a most disappointing war that Mars tends to not speak of to this day. World Wars one and two came and went with no ill effects considering many of the big three’s children were the cause of the latter world war. Mars was always the first to be with the troops as a nameless and faceless soldier, always the first one over the lines and the last one to turn in defeat. Then for a time there was peace. There were occasional military problems, for every problem, Mars was always on the front line with the other soldiers, rallying them to the cause of righteousness and the good battle, always making sure that deciding battles were won for the right people and with as little bloodshed as possible.
The battle for Mt. Othrys was one of the most difficult battles that Mars had ever participated in. With his beloved Romans, he was with them in the front lines. He was prayed to as the keeper of Rome’s eternal flame. Mars bolstered the Romans, their sword arms were faster and their shields stayed ever stronger as they went to topple the black throne. He raised the heroes of the battle of Mt. Othrys on his shoulders and celebrated their victory as they overcame the throne’s guardian Krios. Now he spends more time at Olympus then he does in the mortal realm, but after his last year, Mars finds himself wanting to mingle amongst the semi-divine and semi-mortal people. Now maybe he can find another just cause to champion. [/blockquote]
