Appearance ;; Gunnar is a good looking and strong individual. He is extremely athletic and well-built as any son of Rome should be. His hair is dark and his eyes are brown, cold and calculating. Gunnar prefers the finer things, which can be seen in his clothing. He wears nice button down shirts and slacks, he doesn’t much wear the clothes of camp unless he is training. Gunnar keeps up with his appearance and sometimes people wonder if he’s not a legacy of Venus. His chin is strong and his posture is near perfect.
Gunnar’s body, while it is well built, it has its faults. Many scars litter the tanned skin, but the most prominent scar that stands out is the one that arcs across his nose and mouth like a trio of claw marks has been raked across his face. Another marking that is rather defining, is a butter fly shaped scar on his right hip. He’s always had it and doesn’t know in particular where it came from. Gunnar stands at a tall 6’6” and has a good bit of muscle mass, putting him at about two hundred and fifty pounds.
Personality ;;
To a degree, Gunnar looks like he’s spoilt. In all actuality, he loves the finer things in life. He dresses well and loves the nicest clothes. He can come off as an emotionless jerk to most people, but he has a fondness for little kids. Gunnar is morbid, to say the least, he has a fond love of torturing and tormenting things, though he wouldn’t do it to people he cared about. While it’s easier for some people to get along with him, others find him to be an elitist and overly self-confidant. Some people think of him as cold and heartless, as his ability to detach himself from his emotions is frankly scary. He truly believes himself to be a bad guy on the sense that he has to do the dirty work so that his friends can look like the good guys. Gunnar is a killer and has great focus in his mind. A disciplined mind that is cold and calculating, he is sharp and battle hardened that he can kill without batting an eyelash. Gunnar has strange taste, he loves green apples, fine leather and is a rabid collector of daggers. While he is rather, worldly, Gunnar is quite sheltered from living in New Rome for much of his life and then the Camp. Gunnar always is thinking about the best and easiest way to kill someone, which is marked by the evil looks that he gets from time to time. He loves to scare people and especially loves to pick on the people who say they are the biggest and strongest of the lot.
Powers ;;
Shadow Manipulation/travel: Gunnar can travel though the shadows and this is a particular skill that he has honed in his many years of being in camp. While he can travel short distances with relative ease, longer distances tire him out. His manipulation, however, is fairly basic. He doesn’t have the same abilities as other true children of the underworld, but he can do what is needed to keep him alive. Gunnar has had a few mishaps and tripped, falling in shadows and coming out in strange places. Gunnar doesn’t so much poof when it comes to the shadow travel, he fades gently into the darkness, making it look all the more scarier.
Emotional Detachment: While this may not be a particular power, like his grandfather, Mors, Gunnar has the uncanny ability to detach himself from his emotions when completing a mission. It took a good and long bit of training, though it was something that was natural for him to do.

History ;;
Gunnar was born in winter to both of his parents in New Rome. He was a special child and much loved. His parents frequently ventured into the outside world, leaving him in the care of his Aunt. His parents made plenty of money doing things in the outside world, but it was on his fourth birthday when they really took an interest in the life that Gunnar led. After he turned four, the child had a nightmare and fell from bed and into a shadow. He appeared in the middle of a training exercise in the field of Mars and was returned to his parent’s house by the praetors. From then his training started.
Gunnar knew that his mother and father were crazy, but up until now, he didn’t quite know how crazy they were. As his parents were both obsessed with the idea of death, they decided to put Gunnar’s talents to use by teaching him the trade to become an Assassin. So from then on, his days were filled with learning anatomy and the different ways of torture and death. Gunnar was constantly beat if he showed any emotions, so he learned at a very young age to detach himself from emotions and from people who would bring out emotions in him. Gunnar never allowed himself to have friends since he had been taught that they would just be in the way when he would have to complete jobs that others felt were undesirable.
At the age of nine, there was an accident during his training. Gunnar had been working to learn about concealed poisons in weapons, his mother attacked him. He was forced to defend himself. His mother flew at him with such a fury and maddened mind. He killed her without a single thought or another way out. His father explained that the particular line of work was what made his mother go completely mad. His father felt it best to go ahead and send Gunnar to the legion a year earlier then intended.
The legion was rather easy to fit in to. Gunnar was able to hone his killing skills and soon had become depended on by the legion to get rid of some undesirable people and gathering information that others would be unable to attain. He was extremely disciplined and kept up as well as he could. During the battle of Mt. Orthys he went into a blood frenzy, killing all enemies who had stood in his path after making a bet with a good friend of his to see who could kill more people. While his total was a mere hundred and fifty body, he lost that bet on the battlefield. His skills became spoken of in hushed tones as he was quickly able to disassociate himself from the emotions that would inhibit most from killing and leave a trail of devastation on the battle grounds. His father participated in the battle as a veteran civilian; however it was at his father’s request that Gunnar kill him. Gunnar lost all sense of emotion as his father’s broken body lay in his arms and placed a hand on his sons to drive the dagger deep into his throat.
Gunnar is a wealthy man, his parents leaving him a good deal of money atop of the money he presently makes from doing jobs for some of the people that live in New Rome. Gunnar believes in New Rome and will kill to make sure that the people are safe. He believes in having a really good reason for killing someone and now will only do so at the request of the Praetors. He doesn’t have many friends but has no problem with making one or two every so often.[/blockquote]
