Appearance ;;
Unfortunately though his ego is already large enough, there is no denying that Apollo is a rather attractive god. No doubt, this is something which he is immensely aware of as well. His physique is rather athletic and muscular, though not as much so as perhaps, say, someone such as Mars. His arms, however, are particularly well sculpted, which is really a given considering he is a god of archery (among other things). Apollo stands at a relatively tall height of 6'4" with hardly a slump in his shoulders as standing straight is perhaps the best way to display confidence (as he sees it).
Moving to the more central focus of the god, Apollo's face is warmed by a pleasant tan that offsets his bright smile quite nicely. His smile, which is a tad crooked, but charming enough, is enforced by a strong jawline. His hair is yet another bright aspect about him, as it is shaded a blonde color. It often stands up in unintentional spikes or simply pokes out in an unstyled mess. Unstyled because who has the time for these things besides Venus? And that's not to mention that Apollo already believes he looks damn good enough without too much effort. As for his eyes, they are nearly almond shaped, and are shaded a deep chocolate brown. They often appear rather bright in color, however, most likely because they are always laced with a sparkle of laughter or mischief.
As for apparel choices, the god is favorable to simple attire. He is most commonly seen wearing dark blue jeans and often a t-shirt with perhaps a light jacket, or a sports jacket, thrown on over top of the shirt. That doesn't mean that's he's opposed to dressing classy, of course, but he simply only does so when the occasion calls for it.
Personality ;;
laid-back,,
There is no doubt about it that Apollo is one of the more, if not the most, relaxed of the gods. Despite all of the worries and stress that come with being the god of such a variety of things (or simply just with being a god under all of the current circumstances), the man is shockingly carefree. He doesn't feel that worrying is worth the stress that it causes him, so when most others are fretting and coming undone at the seams, Apollo can often be found relaxing and cracking joke after joke in an attempt to lighten the mood. Of course that is something that doesn't typically work, in fact, he's found that his jokes and inability to take most things seriously is evidently rather annoying to others (especially to the other Dii Consentes). Though it should be noted that when it comes to insulting his family or even his pride, the god can inevitably get a little touchy about those things.
affable,,
Oh my, another unusual trait for a rather large portion of the gods. Apollo is a rather pleasant god for the most part, unless insulted, or unless you, in some way, deserve to be neglected or disliked. He may not be entirely polite, but generally he is quite friendly and warm (yes, it's a sun god pun) to those he meets. Granted he might poke fun at people, but more often than not, it is only a from of light teasing with him-as opposed to outright mocking.
confident and egotistical,,
Despite the fact that Apollo defies a number of the stereotypes placed upon gods, he can't honestly-and he is all about honesty after all-say that he doesn't have a particularly large ego. Because in all reality, his ego is possibly only second to Jupiter, and maybe even Mars. He clearly thinks quite highly of himself, and he feels no shame in letting everyone else know that. Hell, he wouldn't even feel any shame in trying to convince everyone else that he is amazing as he thinks he is, but once again, it must be mentioned that he is laidback, and therefore doesn't care enough to waste his time doing so. Especially when those people should probably already know better than to think any less of him than he does.
charming and flirtatious,,
If you didn't see this coming, then perhaps you should get your eyes checked. Apollo is most certainly known for being a smooth-talker. He has a certain charm about him that he uses to flirt with nearly any girl in a skirt (or jeans, he's not sexist ladies)-and it is often rather effective in luring those same girls in. He isn't one to really take advantage of a girl or lead them astray (such as into thinking that there's actually the possibility of a relationship), rather he is just interested in flirting and the thrill of the chase (maybe even a little kiss-kiss here and there, ladies). Though with mortal woman outside the camp, and goddesses...maybe a little bit more than a kiss-after all, he is known for being perhaps the most promiscuous god.
Also on that note, it should probably be noted that Apollo can be quite the gentleman. Chivalry might be dead in most cases, but that certainly isn't true with this god. He still firmly believes in the chivalrous ideals, such as always paying for a lady, offering her a jacket, etc. Perhaps that's why ladies are so charmed by him, no?

History ;;
birth and early years ,,
Despite the fact that Apollo likes to refer to himself as Diana's 'big' brother, the god is actually the younger of the two twins. His mother, Latona, gave birth to him on the floating island of Delos with the assistance of his slightly older sister Diana. The reason behind Latona having to give birth on this island was because Juno had banned the woman from giving birth on 'terra firma' (or dry land) so she had to find an alternate option. The rumor also is that Apollo was born on the seventh day of the month Thargelion, and so that day has continued to hold a special meaning to the man.
Also in Juno's anger, she sent the dragon Python to hunt down Latona. Apollo, afraid for his mother, requested that Vulcan give him a bow and arrows to defend Latona. So exactly four days after his own birth, Apollo ended up slaying the dragon Python after cornering it. Juno, still not finished with her revenge, sent a giant after Latona, but together Apollo and Diana managed to deter the titan until Jupiter intervened and threw the giant down to the depths of Tartarus. There the titan was chained down and left to be feasted upon by vultures.
the Trojan war,,
Later in life, as a god with an opinion, Apollo, of course took sides in the matter deemed the Trojan War. He felt distaste towards the Greeks as Agamemnon had insulted one of his personal priests, Chryses. Apollo even demanded the return of Chryses' daughter Chryseis, and while the Greeks eventually complied, Achilles was angered by the action. Achilles' anger, however, would not last for long as Apollo ended up assisting in the guidance of the arrow which Paris used to strike Achilles in the ankle. The reason behind Apollo assisting in the demise of Achilles was assumed to be because Achilles had earlier killed one of Apollo's sons on an altar in the god's very own sacred temple.
Asclepius,,
In his first real 'argument' with his father, Apollo was deeply angered after Jupiter had taken it upon himself to kill Apollo's son Asclepius (reason being was that Asclepius had Virbius brought back from the dead). In his anger at having his son killed, Apollo took his revenge by murdering the very cyclopes who had constructed Jupiter's lightning bolt. Jupiter, in retaliation, was prepared to sentence Apollo to life in Tartarus, however, Latona intervened, and Apollo was merely sentenced to a year's worth of labor. He served that labor by acting as a shepherd for a King.
Daphne<3 ,,
In an attempt to display a little bit of Apollo's romantic life, we'll delve into his manufactured infatuation with Daphne. After giving great insult to the god Cupid, Cupid took his revenge by shooting Apollo with an arrow that infected him with love for the nymph Daphne, and then shooting that same nymph with an arrow that infected her with a certain hatred for Apollo. Detesting Apollo, and fearing that he gave chase after her, Daphne begged her father to save her. As a result, her father turned her into a tree, which Apollo then vowed to care for since he still lusted after the girl, but could no longer take her as a wife.
recent years,,
In the most recent battle against the Titans, Apollo fought predominately with the Greeks. He and his fellow Dii Consentes were mainly responsible for distracting Typhon during the Battle of Manhattan-however, despite their efforts, they were only able to defeat the monster with the help of Neptune. Following the battle, Apollo also appointed a new Oracle to the Greek camp-a Miss Rachel Dare. In more recent times, Apollo has been favoring his Roman form. He has even visited the Camp Jupiter a few times, to keep an eye on things (mainly what his son, the augur, is seen to be predicting).
